The following day, Kingsley arrived in Switzerland, accompanied by Thurston.
Before going to sleep the previous night, Thurston had messaged Jane: [Kingsley is heading to Switzerland tomorrow p>
Jane replied bluntly: [Got it. It better not be your doing, or you’ll pay for it p>
Thurston immediately retorted: [Honey, have a heart! I swear to the heavens, this has nothing to do with me. He has meetings at the branch office p>
As soon as Kingsley stepped off the plane, a car was waiting outside the jet bridge.
A fine, misty rain was weaving its way down. Kingsley slid into the back seat and saw Thurston following him in. He spoke indifferently, “I’m going to the office. Where are you going p>
“I can go to the company with you p>
Thurston’s tone was lazy. Going back to his own place meant being alone; it made no difference where he waited.
Kingsley replied with a single word: “Out p>
“As if I’m dying to hang out with you. Don’t worry, I won’t follow you p>
Thurston grabbed a bottle of water from the car’s mini-fridge, twisted it open, and took a few gulps, his tone tinged with defiance.
Half an hour later, Thurston got out at his residence.
At noon, Lucy took the group to a restaurant.
Wyatt was standing at the top of the stairs holding Seven.
He caught a glimpse of Kingsley walking in and immediately handed the child to the nanny behind him. He adjusted Seven’s hood and lowered his voice. “The jerk is here. You guys go upstairs first p>
The nanny moved quickly, carrying Seven upstairs. Wyatt watched them leave before turning to the expressionless Lucy. “Lucy, Jane, you guys go up too p>
Just then, Molly, who was holding Lucy’s hand, saw Kingsley. Her eyes lit up, and she called out with a hint of surprise, “Mr. Kingsley p>
Kingsley looked up at the sound, his gaze sweeping over the group before he nodded slightly at Molly.
When his eyes landed on Wyatt standing next to Lucy, his gaze instantly darkened.
Lucy patted Wyatt on the shoulder. “Let’s go. We’ll go up together p>
Wyatt waved a hand with a smile. “You go ahead. I’m craving a smoke. I’ll be up after a cigarette p>
As he spoke, he actually pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket.
Lucy gave him a deep look, her tone carrying a warning. “Wyatt, there’s no need to butt heads with someone like him p>
“I’m really not. I just want a smoke,” Wyatt insisted.
Jane also glanced at him, her tone crisp. “If you’re going to smoke, be quick about it. Come up immediately after he has absolutely nothing to do with your Lucy anymore p>
Wyatt nodded outwardly, but inside he was still seething over his frozen bank cards.
Once Lucy and the others went upstairs, he stayed at the stairwell entrance without moving.
As soon as Kingsley approached, Wyatt spoke first, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “What? Did I disturb your precious darling? Unhappy. about it? Running to my dad to tattle-how childish are you p>
Kingsley’s face was so dark it looked like a storm was brewing. His thin lips parted slightly. “Against you, that one move is enough p>
“Kingsley, stop looking down on people! You’re nothing but a scumbag p>
Before he could finish, Kingsley suddenly reached out and grabbed him by the
collar, his voice cold as ice. “Wyatt, stop testing my patience p>
“Let go! You can’t win an argument so you get physical? No class p>
Wyatt immediately shouted back, reaching up to pry Kingsley’s hand away.
Lucy, unable to rest easy, had come out of the private room. Halfway
down the stars, she saw Wy being held by the collar and
