As Kingsley changed his clothes to leave, Ethan suddenly tossed him a tube of ointment, his tone laced with mockery.
“I’m starting to think you were just using Wyatt out there p>
“Why?” Kingsley raised an eyebrow. The bruise at the corner of his mouth was particularly stark under the lights-Wyatt had put his full weight behind those punches. If the kid hadn’t been training for such a short time, Kingsley might have lost a tooth. “He came up and provoked me himself p>
Thurston walked over and patted Kingsley on the shoulder, his tone teasing. “Quite the schemer. Little Wyatt is too innocent; you played him like a fiddle p>
Kingsley lifted his eyelids to glance at him, his tone cool. “And you’re innocent? Can an innocent man get a wife p>
“I have schemes, but I also have sincerity. What about you?” Thurston shot back immediately.
Kingsley tugged at his injured lip, his smile careless. “Hurry back and report the news. Don’t waste time here p>
“You need me to report it?” Thurston asked, his tone knowing.
Ethan suddenly chimed in. “So you arranged this from the start? What is this? The ‘playing the victim’ card p>
“Playing the victim only works if someone cares,” Thurston added opportunistically. “She doesn’t give a damn about you p>
With that, he waved his hand and turned away. “I’m done wasting time with you two. Going home to my wife and children p>
Ethan immediately leaned in close to Kingsley, trying to stir the pot. “Look at him, showing off in front of you again. Next time he gets cocky, just punch him. Wyatt is still just a kid p>
Kingsley didn’t respond. He simply lowered his gaze to straighten his collar and walked straight out of the gym, his silhouette carrying an indescribable sense of loneliness.
In Switzerland, the view outside the office’s floor-to-ceiling windows was a vast expanse of white.
Lucy Lynwood had just finished a lengthy meeting. When she pushed open the door to her office, her fingertips were still cold.
The notification light on her computer flashed. She clicked it open, and a video popped up.
When she saw Wyatt getting smashed in the face by Kingsley, Lucy’s grip on the mouse tightened instantly, and a fire flared up in her chest.
She immediately typed out a reply, the words suppressing her anger: [Kingsley, very impressive! I’ll pay you back double for this later p>
After sending it, she pulled out her phone and dialed Wyatt.
The busy signal rang for a long time. Just as Lucy was about to frown, the call connected.
Wyatt, who had been sulking, felt the corners of his mouth lift
uncontrollably the moment he saw the caller ID. His voice sounded

Wyatt froze, instinctively looking around, his tone full of surprise and uncertainty. “Lucy, are you back in the country? How did you know I was hurt p>
“I’m not back,” Lucy’s voice deepened, carrying a serious note. “Wyatt, if you still consider me your family listen to me, don’t stick your neck out for me in the future. It’s hot worth it p>
Wyatt’s voice dropped instantly, sounding aggrieved. “Lucy, I’m sorry p>
But inwardly, he clenched his fist. Sorry or not, he had noted those punches from Kingsley, Once he trained a bit more, he would beat the man half to death. He was going to return every hit.
Hearing the dejection in his voice, Lucy chuckled softly, her tone softening. “You don’t need to apologize to me. Remember to apply ointment to your injuries p>
“I know. Ethan already gave me some,” Wyatt replied, his voice regaining some vitality.
Lucy gave a few more detailed instructions before hanging up.
