Chapter 255
Lucy looked down at Seven, reached out to gently stroke his cheek, and comforted him in a soft voice, “It’s okay.”
Just as she spoke, a Mercedes G-Wagon pulled up smoothly in front of them.
The window rolled down briskly, revealing Wyatt’s sunglasses-clad face. He spoke decisively, “Lucy, Seven, get in. I’ll give you a ride.”
He had actually offered to drive them earlier, but Lucy had politely declined, not wanting to cause any trouble.
As Wyatt spoke, he hooked a finger to pull his sunglasses down slightly. Blatant provocation surged in his eyes as he shot a direct glare at Kingsley standing nearby.
“What? Stalking people all the way to my front door? If the paparazzi saw this,
they’d think Mr. Sherwood had a secret crush on me. Don’t do this next time, or you won’t be able to clear your name.”
Kingsley ignored him completely, reaching over to pull the backseat door open so Lucy and her son could get in.
A second before the door clicked shut, he cast a cool glance at Wyatt, his tone icy. “Find some time to look in the mirror, and stop being so full of yourself.”
Wyatt let out a scoff and fired back, “Heh, still better than a stalker like you.”
With that, he slammed his foot on the gas, and the G-Wagon roared away, leaving only a cloud of exhaust behind.
Kingsley was burning with frustration, his annoyance peaking. He pulled out his phone and shot a text to Ethan Sterling: [He isn’t grounded?]
The moment the message sent, Ethan replied instantly: [I froze his credit cards. That’s way more fatal than being grounded. Without money, he wouldn’t even dare leave the house.]
Kingsley held down the voice record button, his tone hard and cold: [He just left the house.]
Ethan quickly texted back: [He has his own two legs. I can’t keep an eye on him twenty-four seven.]
Kingsley’s eye twitched as he read the message. He replied with a single phrase: [Get lost.]
He had just put his phone away when a message from Shane popped up: [Mr Sherwood, Ms
Lynwood booked a flight back to
Switzerland for tomorrow.
He replied almost instantly: [Book tickets to Switzerland for me and Xavier on the exact same flight.]
Tossing his phone aside, he ordered his driver in a deep voice, “To The Vista Gardens.”
The car hadn’t even been driving for
a few minutes when his phone

Kingsley tapped out a few words: [She doesn’t want to see me.]
Thurston was silent for a moment before sending a string of ellipses, followed closely by another text [Isn’t this just part of the process af winning her back? If you don’t want’ to come, then forget it…]
Kingsley stared at the screen for two seconds, then suddenly turned to the driver,
his tone absolute. “Change of plans. To the resort.”
The moment Lucy and Seven arrived, Wyatt stepped on the gas and sped off.
He had been cooped up at home for days and was suffocating. Now that he had
cash on hand, he couldn’t wait to go out and get some fresh air.
The weather was beautiful today, the sunlight warm and inviting.
Jane Lambert had also brought out her few-months-old baby for some sun. The stroller was parked right by the edge of the lawn.
Seven caught sight of the tiny infant in the stroller. His little mouth parted slightly in awe as he whispered, “Mom, he’s so small.”
He reached out a tiny hand, wanting to touch the baby, but withdrew his fingers just before making contact, terrified he might hurt him.
Molly, standing nearby, saw this and smiled encouragingly. “Go ahead and touch him! Just be gentle. You can even give him a kiss.”
Seven obediently extended his little hand, gently touching the infant’s tiny fingers, and whispered again, “So small.”
