Chapter 247
Seeing this, Lucy Lynwood led the group back to the hotel.
An hour after Bacchus Sherwood left the hospital, Kingsley finally woke up in his ward.
He turned his head to look at Thurston, who was curled up on the sofa catching up on sleep. His voice was still slightly hoarse. “Why didn’t you go home?”
Thurston’s eyes snapped open, his tone laced with dissatisfaction. “My home is practically torn apart because of you. Where am I supposed to go?”
“Even if I hadn’t gone to your place today, you still would’ve been kicked out.” Kingsley rubbed his throbbing temples, the dizziness having mostly subsided.
Shane, who was also keeping watch, reached out and pressed the call bell by the bed to get a doctor for a check-up.
Thurston didn’t argue. Even without this mess, he would probably be the only one left at home anyway, returning to an empty house.
A few minutes later, a doctor walked in, asked about Kingsley’s condition, and performed a brief examination.
Just as the doctor was about to leave, Kingsley impatiently asked, “When can I be discharged?”
Thurston’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Can’t you just stay put? Lucy covered your medical bills. Are you feeling bad about the money?”
“I have things to do. I don’t want to stay in the hospital.” Kingsley frowned, a hint of anxiety in his voice.
“I still have a score to settle with Ethan. Winning Lucy back was already hard enough, and now that he’s running his mouth, it’s going to be even harder.”
Thurston let out an exasperated laugh, unable to hold back his harsh words.
“Keep pushing it! When your body gives out, Lucy will look down on you even more, and even Seven won’t want anything to do with you!”
Despite his scolding, he pulled out his phone, opened a newly received message, and forwarded a video of Seven from Jane Lambert’s social media to Kingsley. Softening his tone, he muttered, “Look at your son and just stay in bed.”
Shane was quick to act, elevating the head of the bed before handing the phone to Kingsley.
Kingsley tapped on the video, and

He stared at it for a moment before suddenly looking up. “How do I get her to accept my friend request?”
Thurston was biting into an apple and nearly choked at the question. He coughed a couple of times before replying.
“How should I know? Even if she accepts it, Lucy might not even reply to you. It doesn’t make much of a difference.”
Kingsley fell silent, realizing the man made a fair point.
“There’s no other way,” Thurston

“Is that how your wife’s father won over her mother?” Kingsley suddenly interjected.

Kingsley watched his face instantly pale and smirked. “What, are you scared of him?”
“It’s not fear, it’s respect!” Thurston argued, though his tone lost some of its edge.
Kingsley didn’t tease him any further, his mind drifting back to figuring out how to get Lucy to accept his request.
A moment later, his eyes lit up as an idea struck him.
He reopened the contact request screen and typed a single line into the memo box:
I owe medical bills and need to pay.
After confirming it, he tapped the screen and sent the request.
