“You’ve already handed over your assets, but I doubt you’ve even met your great- grandson yet, have you?”
The instant elder Mrs. Sherwood’s eyes landed on Seven in the video, her gaze melted into absolute adoration. Her lips curled into an uncontrollable smile. “This child is just too lovable!”
Wilma, standing nearby, chimed in, though her words carried a pointed edge. “Lucy has truly raised him well. It’s just a shame that some people didn’t know how to appreciate what they had.”
“Exactly! He brought it all on himself, ruining his own happiness!” elder Mrs. Sherwood quickly added salt to the wound.
Kingsley wasn’t angered in the slightest. He simply accepted it. “Yes, which is why everything happening now is my punishment.”
He paused, then added offhandedly, “It seems you guys aren’t interested in hearing him call you Great-Grandma. What a shame…”
The older woman remained silent, but internally, she was burning with impatience. How could she not be? But it wasn’t her place to bring it up with Lucy, so she was stuck waiting.
Wilma saw right through both of them and teased with a smile, “What’s this? Getting hurt didn’t win you a single glance from Lucy, so now you’re desperately trying to use the old lady?”
Kingsley smiled, a hint of certainty in his voice. “We’ll talk about it once she agrees to meet.”
elder Mrs. Sherwood glared at him and cut straight to the chase. “Send me that video. Stop trying to bait us into doing your dirty work.”
Kingsley picked up his phone and readily sent it over.
elder Mrs. Sherwood had managed to keep her composure earlier, but ever since she watched the video of Seven, her heart was gripped by a restless anticipation. She couldn’t sit still.
Eventually, she swallowed her pride and dialed Lucy’s number.
By five-thirty that evening, elder Mrs. Sherwood and Wilma were fully dressed and ready to go. Neither could hide their excitement. Even the usually composed older woman found her fingers trembling slightly with anticipation.
Just then, Bacchus returned from a blind date. Seeing the two women sitting in the living room, he asked with a smile, “Are you two waiting specifically for me?”
The moment elder Mrs. Sherwood saw him, her brow furrowed. “Shouldn’t you still be on your date right now? Why are you back?”
Bacchus sat on the sofa and answered flatly, “She wasn’t interested. I couldn’t exactly harass her to stay.”
“How could she not be interested?” She looked her handsome grandson up and down, utterly bewildered. “What’s wrong with you?”
Bacchus stated frankly, “She said I have no money and no property.”

does the Sherwood family have no money? Didn’t you think to mention that?” elder Mrs. Sherwood huffed, exasperated by his sheer incompetence in dating. No
property? Sherwood Group owns countless real estate! A man’s pedigree matters in this world, and you didn’t even mention yours!”
But Bacchus merely replied indifferently, “True, but none of that belongs to me.”
“You blockhead!” elder Mrs. Sherwood couldn’t hold back her sarcasm. “You totally deserve to have been single for thirty-two years!”
