The moment Wyatt landed in Switzerland, he contacted Lucy.
It was just past dinner time, and the living room was cozy and warm.
Lucy was chatting with Jane, while Molly sat on the carpet with a picture book, Seven nestled obediently beside her.
The little girl was chattering away about the story, and Seven would occasionally rub the book with his tiny finger. The scene between the two children was incredibly harmonious.
Suddenly, the phone vibrated.
Lucy paused, then slid the screen to answer.
Wyatt’s excited voice came through immediately. “Lucy, I’m in Switzerland p>
“Where are you now?” Lucy asked.
“Just got off the plane,” Wyatt said, adding a wheedling tone. “Can you take me in for a night, Lucy? I don’t have friends here, I only know you p>
Lucy couldn’t help but laugh, her tone light. “Of course. I’ll send you the address; just take a taxi over p>
She had several empty guest rooms, so one more person wouldn’t be a bother. “Awesome! Thanks, Lucy!” Wyatt’s voice couldn’t hide his joy.
Hanging up, Lucy sent the location.
Jane looked up at her casually. “Who was that p>
Lucy set the phone by the sofa, replying nonchalantly, “Wyatt is in Switzerland. He said he has nowhere to go, so I told him to come over p>

“Grandpa would be the first to object to that,” Lucy laughed, shaking her head.
The nanny brought the milk over. Lucy took two bottles, handing one to Seven and whispering, “Take this to your sister p>
Seven obediently held the bottle with both hands, trotted over to Molly handed it to her, then trotted back to sprawl on Lucy’s lap. holding his own bottle up. Manta, open.
The next day, the pieces clicked into place for Wyatt. Lucy had a son… and he was
a mini-Kingsley. The likeness was unreal.
Staring at Seven’s chubby face, Kingsley’s image kept popping into his head like he was possessed.
His gaze fell on the little one stacking blocks, and a strange pang of sympathy for Lucy and the child welled up in him.
