After hanging up, Lucy remained on the balcony, completely devoid of sleep.
She knew Irma’s roguish nature all too well, so without much hesitation, she dialed another number.

Her gaze swept over Seven, who was sleeping soundly on the bed. She didn’t stop but walked straight to the desk, opened her laptop, and expertly navigated the screen to transfer a sum of money to a designated account.

Closing the page, Lucy searched for recent news on The Lynwood Group-she hadn’t paid much attention to it in the past two years.
After browsing through the information, a cold smirk curled on her lips. She muttered lowly, “What a waste of space. Some people are just hopeless p>
With that, she closed the browser, opened her design software, and her fingers began moving rapidly between the keyboard and mouse.

Kingsley didn’t respond. He tapped a cigarette out of a pack. The lighter clicked, a spark flared, and smoke slowly drifted up.

“Yes, Mr. Sherwood.” Shane acknowledged and turned to leave the office.

She was pacing back and forth like an ant on a hot pan, her face filled with anxiety.
The Lynwood Group’s situation had
been stable, but ever since she went all-in on a risky project, the
investment failed miserably. Now, partners were knocking on the door daily to collect debts, and the company accounts were running on fumes.
What annoyed her even more was that the board of directors was starting to stir, whispering openly and privately about removing her from her position.
