In the Arrivals Hall of Zurich Airport, Switzerland.
Lucy had just gotten off the plane, dressed smartly, and was striding toward the exit.
From a distance, she saw Jules holding Seven in the waiting area. The little guy was clutching two bright red roses in his hand, looking particularly eye-catching.
“Mo… Mommy!” Seven recognized her at a glance, excitedly waving his small hand, his milky voice piercing through the crowd.
Lucy quickened her pace, practically jogging over. She carefully took Seven into her arms, lowered her head to kiss his soft cheek, and said gently, “Mommy’s back p>
Seven immediately wrapped his little arms around her neck, nuzzling his small head against her shoulder, clinging and calling out, “Mommy p>
Jules watched this scene and spoke with a tone that sought credit, “See? I took good care of him, didn’t I? Played with him every day, read picture books, fed him… occasionally even slept with him p>
Lucy looked up at him, her tone teasing. “Do you remember what you said last time p>
Jules responded immediately, crisp and decisive. “Vacation approved p>
As he spoke, he took a rose from Seven’s hand, turned, and handed it to Emma, adding, “But there’s a condition. Your phone can’t be off. You have to ensure you’re reachable at all times p>
Emma looked at the solitary red rose in front of her face and silently grumbled: “So stingy. Who gives a single rose for an airport pickup p>
Having gotten what she wanted, Lucy was currently holding the person she cared about most. Her tone was light. “I know p>
Jules checked the time on his wrist and said, “Let’s go. I’ll drive you home p>
About fifty minutes later, Lucy returned to her residence with Seven.
The nanny efficiently carried the luggage inside. Seven, however, hung onto Lucy like a little koala, refusing to come down. His head rested on her shoulder, his chubby hand gently rubbing her cheek, his mouth still murmuring softly, “Mommy p>
Lucy let him cling to her, looking down to ask softly, “Seven missed Mommy, right p>
The little guy nodded vigorously, his voice milky. “Yes p>
Lucy pecked his soft face again,
smiling as she coaxed, “Mommynet
missed you too. I brought you a gift. is Legos Shall we open it
together p>
“Okay p>
Seven’s eyes lit up. He finally slid down from her, holding Lucy’s hand tightly as! he dragged her toward the suitcase, urging anxiously, “Mommy, open p>
Lucy opened the suitcase and took out the Legos and several other toys one by
one.
Seven spotted a small car in the pile and instantly got excited, pointing with his little finger. “Car! Car p>
Lucy handed him the package-it contained several models of cars.
Seven fiddled with it for a while but couldn’t get the packaging open. He had to hold
it up to Lucy again. “Ma… Mommy, open p>
Lucy took it and helped him unwrap it. Seven immediately sat on the carpet, trying to push the car forward. Finding it hard to move on the rug he slowly stood up and leaned over the small coffee table, pushing the car back and forth, playing happily.
Lucy brought over a small stool and placed it behind him. Seven looked back and smiled at her, mumbling, “Than… Mommy p>
“You’re welcome.” Lucy smiled too, sitting on the small stool and quietly watching him run the car back and forth on the table.
A child’s happiness was so simple; the smallest thing could satisfy them.
She looked at Seven before her, thinking silently: “May my little Seven always be happy and grow up slowly p>
The thought brought unexpected tears to her eyes.
