Chapter 68
In the study upstairs, Kingsley held a freshly lit cigarette between his fingers, his gaze resting on the sofa.
The phone on the desk vibrated. He glanced at the screen; it was a message from Sean: [Join this group. Communicate any issues regarding the Lunar Tide project here p>
Kingsley replied coldly: [Do I look like I have free time p>
The other party replied instantly: [If you don’t join, let your project manager join p>
His finger paused, but he eventually tapped on the group chat.
The group members’ avatars were scattered. The most conspicuous one was an artistic signature “Seven,” next to a blurred figure seen from the back. The identities of the others were indiscernible.
After a moment’s hesitation, he clicked “Join Group p>
The avatar with the “Seven” signature displayed the name “Lucy p>
He clicked on her profile, but the page showed nothing, so he exited.
Meanwhile, seeing him join the group, Sean immediately sent a message: [Thought you weren’t joining p>
Kingsley glanced at the message, intending to ignore it.
Kingsley stubbed out the cigarette butt in the ashtray, extinguishing the sparks.
He picked up his phone and dialed Shane. The busy tone only rang twice before it was answered. Shane’s respectful voice came through the receiver. “Mr. Sherwood p>
“I’ll go to the Switzerland project personally,” he said, his tone flat but carrying an unquestionable certainty.
Shane paused for half a second before reacting. “Okay! I’ll inform the Vice President immediately p>
Before he finished speaking, Kingsley had already hung up.
He stood up and walked out, his steps brisk as he headed downstairs.
As soon as Kingsley came downstairs, he saw Old Mrs. Sherwood sitting in the middle of the living room.
She looked up at him and asked, “It’s time to eat. What are you doing p>
“Afraid I’ll be an eyesore to you, so I’m leaving p>
He casually picked up his jacket from the sofa area, his tone carrying a hint of nonchalance.
Old Mrs. Sherwood’s eyes suddenly became sharp. She said deeply, “If you dare step out of this door now, don’t come back p>
Kingsley actually quirked his lips at that. He turned his head and said, “Wilma, make my grandma a cup of tea to cool her down p>
Wilma, standing beside Old Mrs. Sherwood, gave him a helpless look. “You saying a few less words would work better than any tea p>
“I’m staying away to keep from annoying her, aren’t I? What more do you want from me p>
He chuckled lightly, his tone sounding almost teasingly aggrieved.
Old Mrs. Sherwood glared at him, then changed the subject, her tone darkening. “Are you planning never to marry in this lifetime? Or are y you preparing to settle down with that Joyce girl p>
The sharpness faded slightly, replaced by a probing look.
Kingsley tapped his fingers lightly

Or did you hear some rumors p>
Although the old lady didn’t get a direct answer, she had formed a conclusion from

She was silent for a moment before

Kingsley didn’t take the bait. He just changed the subject. “Can we eat? I’m hungry p>
Old Mrs. Sherwood instructed the servant nearby, “Go call Susan and Bacchus down for dinner p>
Kingsley got up and walked to the dining room. As soon as he sat down, a servant came forward to serve food.
