That was a possibility Elissa hadn’t considered.
After all, the Murphy Group’s biggest business had once been real estate. With Rowan’s personal wealth, if he claimed to be second in Vistapeak City’s property market, no one would dare claim first. The apartment across the hall was just a rental for him. Besides, his primary residence, Rivercross Residence, was only a few miles away!

Elissa paused, wiping away the shampoo suds that were about to run into her eyes. “Then I’ll just ask the professor and his wife to move over here p>
“Fine by me,” Rowan chuckled. “Go ahead. Go wake up the old couple in the middle of the night p>
Elissa finally understood his game. He had probably planned this whole thing from the moment he arranged for her professor to stay across the hall. What a schemer.
“I’m in the shower,” she said.
“The passcode is the same one I sent you before p>
With that, she hung up and went back to her shower.
As she heard the faint sound of the front door opening and closing, her thoughts began to race. It wasn’t that she’d never stayed at Rowan’s place before, but this was the first time he had come to hers.
Her mind was a jumble. After rinsing the shampoo from her hair, she squeezed shower gel into her palm and, in a daze, started lathering it into her hair again….Stop it!
She wasn’t a teenager with her first crush. Why was she getting so flustered just because a man was on the other side of the door?
Taking a deep breath, Elissa calmed herself and focused on finishing her shower.
Outside, Rowan walked in, casually found his slippers in the shoe cabinet, and put them on. He strolled over to the bathroom door, where the sound of running water filled the art, and leaned languidly against thẻ frame. The thought that the girl who had been by his side since childhood was right inside this room washed away the stress from his work.
After Elissa finished showering, she reached for a towel to dry off and suddenly realized—she hadn’t brought any clothes in with her!
