When a woman was pregnant, especially as she got further along, the signs were quite obvious.
Rowan paused his eating, narrowed his eyes, and shot Rex a dark glance, but said nothing.
That single look made the hairs on the back of Rex’s neck stand up. He pretended not to notice and kept his head down, shoveling food into his mouth.

He prayed Rowan wasn’t too sharp right now.
His biological sister and the girl he saw as a sister were both tied to the same man.
And clearly, his newfound sister was a piece of work-first being the other woman, and now pregnant with the guy’s child.
He hadn’t yet figured out how to break the news to Rowan without getting beaten to a pulp.
He needed a solid game plan.

Elissa finally realized he had just been teasing her earlier. Feeling much more at ease, she pulled Tanya back onto the couch.
Seeing that she wasn’t even going to walk him to the door, Rowan let out a soft scoff but didn’t say anything.
