Old Mrs. Atwater’s expression darkened, her tone growing severe. “And what about
you? If you drive her to her death, will you finally be satisfied?”

Old Mrs. Atwater took a sip of hot tea, as if making him a promise. “Unless you willingly agree, no one is marrying into the Atwater family.”
As long as it didn’t violate their moral principles, she wanted nothing more than for her grandson to find a caring companion to spend his life with.

Cliff’s face lit up with surprise. He took it eagerly. “Where did you get it? Is it legitimate?”
“Eighty to ninety percent sure.”
Rowan didn’t make absolute promises. “But verify it first.”
Aaron’s expression relaxed.
He knew Rowan’s working style; this kid’s eighty percent was more reliable than anyone else’s one hundred percent.

Aaron frowned again, his tone turning serious. “Logically, there should only be one dose of this antidote.”
“If this is the real thing, and Elissa went out to get it…”

Cliff answered immediately. “Frank.”
