The woman’s soft, steamy voice drifted from the bathroom. The irritation Rowan had just managed to suppress at the door came rushing back, now as a restless heat coursing through his veins.
Inside the bathroom, Elissa belatedly remembered her collection of sexy little nightgowns, gifts from Tanya Foster who had told her to wear them to please herself once in a while. But she’d been so busy over the past year that she hadn’t gotten around to pleasing herself.
Thinking of Rowan’s inherently wicked streak, Elissa could already guess which set of pajamas he was going to bring her. At that thought, her already flushed cheeks burned even hotter. That would be even more embarrassing than wearing one of his shirts.

Fighting the urge to curse at him, Elissa quickly pulled the nightgown inside. When she saw what it was, she froze.

She’d bought it a couple of months ago after seeing it on a shopping app, thinking it was cute. It was originally a birthday gift for a college roommate’s daughter, but she had entered the wrong address. By the time she realized her mistake, the nightgown had already arrived. She figured she would have her own child soon enough, so she’d decided to keep it.
