Through the frosted glass, Rowan saw the shadow outside his door flit away in what looked like embarrassed haste. A faint smile touched his chiseled features. He walked over to the sink, and his eyes immediately landed on his electric toothbrush, sitting right next to hers. She had never put it away. That meant… Frank had definitely never stayed here.
The thought was enough to almost completely dispel the frustration he felt about the baby. Hearing the sound of the shower, Elissa leaned against her bed, her mind racing. She thought about his toothbrush, still in her bathroom, and the fact that there was only one bath towel. Her face grew hotter. Knowing his style, he would probably feel perfectly entitled to crawl into her bed later.
Elissa gently poked her stomach through her clothes, muttering under her breath, “When you come out, you better not inherit your father’s demanding and unreasonable nature.” But then again, genetics were a tricky thing.
