Jesse stepped out. As he entered the living room, he saw Tristan Wilkinson peeling grapes for Suzanne and asking, “What happened outside just now p>
“Matriarch Paige Murphy showed up,” Jesse replied, not hiding anything. “First she tried to force her way in, and after Dr. Drummond went out, she tried to drag her off p>
“Drag her off?” Tristan frowned. “I thought Matriarch Paige Murphy was supposed to be kind to her p>
The Wilkinson family had heard rumors that the Murphys had once adopted a child. But the fact that Paige Jensen had mistreated Elissa–only Rex Wilkinson knew about that, and he was never one to gossip. So the rest of the family hadn’t paid much attention to what went on in the Murphy household, and didn’t know the truth.

Jesse nodded. “Yeah. But I’ve already spoken to the Murphys. They shouldn’t trouble Dr. Drummond again, at least for now. ”

Suzanne asked, “Where’s Dr. Drummond p>
“She’s in the study, writing up a meal plan for you p>
“In that case, go tell the kitchen that Dr. Drummond will be joining us for lunch,” Suzanne instructed.
At that, both Tristan and Jesse were momentarily surprised. Over the years, Suzanne had rarely socialized with outsiders, let alone invited anyone to join her at the table. Even the most distinguished women of society had been turned away at her door. For her to invite someone herself–how could Tristan and Jesse refuse?
