With things escalating to this point, Old Mrs. Atwater naturally didn’t dare block his path any longer.
Moreover, she could hear the sheer panic lacing Rowan’s words. The fact that he hadn’t immediately torn his way into the Chapel meant he was still showing her a shred of respect for helping him secure the antidote.
She immediately ordered the maid, “Take Mr. Murphy to the Chapel!”
Rowan’s eyes flickered with surprise.
The Chapel was a sacred family space, rarely open to outsiders.
However, given the absolute urgency of the situation, he didn’t hesitate and strode directly toward the courtyard.
Guarding the Chapel doors, Quentin looked up and recoiled at the sight of Rowan’s murderous aura. After the maid quickly explained the situation, he stammered, “I’ll go get the Young Master right away…”
“No need.”
With that, Rowan kicked the doors open and stormed into the Chapel!
Quentin couldn’t stop him in time. The maid quickly intervened, “The Old Madam permitted Mr. Murphy to go in.”
Quentin froze. No sounds of a struggle emerged from inside yet, but he still broke into a cold sweat.
This man was not someone to cross.
If the Young Master had truly kidnapped Elissa, this was going to end in absolute disaster.
Frank stood silently in the center of the Family Chapel. Hearing the doors open, he assumed it was the butler.
“Quentin, you don’t need to sneak me out behind Grandma’s back…”
“Where is Elissa?”
A voice, colder and sharper than ice, sliced through his words.
Frank’s spine stiffened. He turned around to face a furious Rowan.
The fact that Rowan had conspired with his grandmother to trick him out of the
antidote was already infuriating. Hearing this aggressive demand only shortened his temper further. “You’re asking me where she is?”
Ever since the divorce, when had he ever known Elissa’s whereabouts?
Let alone after she got together with Rowan.
Rowan didn’t bother hiding his interrogation. “She got a call from you forty-five
minutes ago, and then she was picked up by your car. Are you telling me you don’t know?”
Only then did Frank grasp the gravity of the situation.
Elissa was in danger!
He jolted forward, his legs feeling weak from standing so long. He had to lean heavily against a nearby table to steady himself.
“I didn’t call her.”
He instantly cast aside his bitter rivalry with Rowan. “I got back to the manor forty-
five minutes ago. Quentin took my phone right after.”
“If you don’t believe me, check the security cameras.”
He hadn’t even gone upstairs since returning, and the ground floor was heavily monitored.
Seeing the genuine shock on his face, Rowan’s expression grew even more glacial. The veins bulged at his temples, and his hands curled into tight, trembling fists at his sides.
Frank hesitated. “You don’t believe me?”
But Rowan ignored him entirely, spinning on his heel and striding out the door!
His steps were rapid and frantic, as if he were terrified of missing a single second.
Stunned, Frank chased after him, snatching his phone back from Quentin along the way. He matched Rowart’s pace. We were trends for years, and you seriously don’t trust me at all?”
He needed Rowan to trust him.
Otherwise, Rowan would waste precious time investigating him instead of finding Elissa.
“Does it matter if I trust you right now?”
Rowan didn’t slow down, nor did he look back. His voice was laced with venom. “Finding Elissa is all that matters.”
“You think I don’t know that?”
While they spoke, Frank had already dialed a number. After asking a few rapid questions, the color completely drained from his face.
Ignoring how hostile their
relationship had become, he slid into the back of Rowan’s car, “I found out. After may car was dropped off at the dealership, one of the mechanics drove it off the lot.”
Which meant Elissa had indeed been taken in his car.

Elissa had ridden in this car countless times, but this was the first time she felt utterly frozen with terror.
She pressed her back hard against the door, staring warily at the bespectacled stranger sitting across from her. “Who sent you?”
Specs rolled his eyes in annoyance. “I’ve told you a dozen times. Mr. Atwater.” Elissa’s brow furrowed tightly. “And I’ve told you a dozen times, that’s impossible.” During their three years of marriage, Frank might have been cold to her, but she recognized almost all of his close subordinates.
More importantly, Frank would never order his men to get physical with her.
Earlier, just before she got in, she had realized something was wrong, but they hadn’t given her a chance to run.
They had simply drugged her.
When she woke up ten minutes ago, the car was already speeding toward the outskirts of the city, likely heading for the highway.
Once they left Vistapeak City, Rowan’s chances of finding her would plummet. Elissa’s palms grew slick with sweat. “Just tell me the truth. Why did you kidnap me?”
“Whatever you want, as long as it’s within my power, I’ll do it.”
Specs smirked, finally dropping the act. “My boss wants Rowan Murphy dead. Can you help with that?”
“I’m sure you can. After all, you’re the person he trusts most in the world right now.”
