Tanya listened in utter confusion.
If one didn’t know better, they’d think Elissa was the Wilkinson sibling.
Jesse breathed a sigh of relief. “Good. Once we find Vera, Maya and the others will be the ones getting a hard time.”
Eavesdropping openly, Tanya felt even more bewildered.
Wasn’t Marcia Carson the long-lost daughter they had gone to such great lengths to find?
If she had a sister-in-law like that, forget the Wilkinsons rejecting her-Tanya wouldn’t want to marry into that family anyway.
The post-marital drama would be endless.
Oblivious to Tanya’s presence, Rex chimed in with a hint of desperation, “Then please hurry up and find her. Otherwise, Marcia is going to ruin my reputation with her fake identity.”
Hearing this, it all clicked for Tanya.

“You don’t need to tell me that,” Jesse replied through the speakers.

Hanging up the phone, Jesse looked at Laurel Wilkinson, who was flipping through documents in the study. “Laurel, do you think we could just get Elissa to do a DNA test?”
“And then what?”
Laurel wasn’t entirely indifferent. She paused her work and met his gaze. “If she is, then everyone is happy.”
“But if she isn’t? How would Elissa interact with us after that? Thanks to Marcia’s antics, she’s already keeping her distance from our family.”
Subconsciously, Laurel had already begun treating Elissa like a younger sister. Because of that affection, she didn’t dare push for a test.
With Elissa’s sensitive nature, a negative result would only make her feel awkward around the Wilkinsons.
Thinking it over, Jesse realized he was being impulsive.
Some things didn’t need to be brought into the light so bluntly.
Laurel saw right through his thoughts but didn’t plan to stop him. She merely
advised, “She’s a doctor. She’s sharper about these things than most. Don’t make it too obvious.”
Meanwhile, the black G-Wagon pulled into the underground parking garage of Vistapeak Gardens. Rex smoothly backed into a spot.
He finally glanced at the woman beside him, who was clearly bursting with questions. “What do you want to ask?”
Tanya didn’t care if it was polite or not. “Marcia really isn’t your sister?”
Rex killed the engine. “Do you think she looks anything like my sister?”
Neither of you are very smart, Tanya thought.
But she kept it to herself since she was still in his car.
Playing it smart, she agreed, “No, you don’t seem like family at all. So she’s really a fake?”
It was baffling how brazen Marcia was.
Rex nodded. “Yeah.”
“Now, you still haven’t told me—who is your most important person?”
He hadn’t forgotten.
Tanya’s beautiful eyes curved into a smile, radiating an alluring charm she wasn’t even aware of.
She looked at him for a long moment before parting her lips. “Guess.”

gracefully, and strode toward the
elevator lobby in her stilettos.
Watching her sway through the windshield, Rex unconsciously rubbed his nose, a
smile tugging at his lips.
