“Alright, settle down. We’re all classmates. You guys know what I’m really like p>

While this side of the classroom was buzzing with excitement, there was still a gloomy corner on the other side.
Mira had noticed it the moment she walked in. It was just Mara and the few sycophants she had bought. Anyone with a bit of backbone wouldn’t associate with her.
When Mara first arrived last semester, no one really liked her.
Having grown up in the countryside, she was new to high society and was clueless about social etiquette and customs.

“Exactly. She’s not a Mercer heiress anymore. What’s the use of being a good singer p>
“Mara is the real heiress. No matter how well she sings, she’s just an entertainer p>
“Let’s not gossip. She is my sister, after all,” Mara said in a sweet, affected tone, but her face was beaming with enjoyment.
She knew these students were just trying to get something from her and didn’t genuinely like her, but she had to play along.
Otherwise, she would be a complete loner, which would be even more humiliating.
When she was leaving for school today, Lacey, worried that Mara would be isolated, had given her a sum of money.

“Mom—!” Mara cried out, but the corners of her mouth were turning up in a smile.
And sure enough, when she walked into the classroom today, she felt everyone staring at her with weird, looks, as if she were some kind of monster.
