He only came home occasionally and always assumed the drama was just petty squabbling between sisters. He thought Mira was just spoiled and couldn’t handle sharing the spotlight.

When Julian still didn’t move, Adrian grabbed his arm and dragged him toward the door.
He knew they wouldn’t be welcomed.
He hadn’t even wanted to come. Lacey had been the one weeping and dragging him along.
For the holiday dinner, Mira had originally planned to take everyone to the steakhouse, but Rachel insisted they eat at home.

Mason was working overtime and wouldn’t be back for the holidays, and Mira still had to take the Iron Wolves to the television station to tape her performance.
Eventually, Mira suggested a compromise. They would order their favorite dishes through Solflare Express. It would save them from cooking and washing plates, and it was a great way to test their own delivery team.
After making the arrangements that afternoon, Mira headed to the station with the Iron Wolves to record the show. Because they were returning late, she told Rachel to eat first and just save some food for them.
But when they got back, Rachel hadn’t ordered anything. She was sitting on the couch, completely engrossed in the Melvion Midwinter Jubilee broadcast.
Back when she worked for the Mercer family, the staff never had the luxury of watching television.
This year, living with Mira felt like being in her own home. Whenever her work was done, she could relax and watch TV.
Since she didn’t have to cook the holiday dinner tonight, she had tuned into the broadcast-especially since Mira was performing.
She had practically raised the girl, and in her heart, she loved Mira more than her
own son.
Mira’s first appearance was a comedy skit alongside Gavin Hale and Aidan Chase.
In the sketch, the three of them played orphans who had grown up together and had to hustle to survive.
On New Year’s Eve, Gavin and Aidan, wearing old school uniforms, finished making dinner but couldn’t find Mira anywhere.
Gavin groaned in frustration. “We spoil her too much. It’s New Year’s Eve, she didn’t help with dinner, and she’s not even home yet p>
Aidan waved it off. “She helps us plenty. Most of our money-making schemes were her ideas.
“Selling insurance, handing out
flyers, hauling luggage at the train
station… she even got us that gig
acting as professional mourners at a funeral. We made two hundred
bucks each in half a day.” He counted the jobs off on his fingers.
Gavin sighed. “Man, I wish we got more of those mourning gigs. That’s where the real money is p>
“We can’t rely on that! People don’t
die every day, and even when they do, it’s rare to find someone willing to hire professional moumers.
