When the performance ended, the stadium remained enveloped in total silence. The audience was completely immersed in the beautiful imagery painted by the soft notes and delicate melodies, unable to pull themselves back to reality.
Lawrence’s hired agitators, who had tried and failed to cause a scene earlier, fully defected in that moment. They transformed into docile, captivated fans.
They had scored free tickets to a major event, so they figured they might as well just sit back and enjoy the incredible performances.
Besides, they had already argued with a few fans earlier, so technically, they had done some work. They hadn’t taken the money for nothing. Even if their supervisors were watching, they had a solid excuse.
Seeing the absolute lack of disruption, Zachary pulled out his phone and dialed his team leaders.
He called several of them, but every single phone was turned off.
“These absolute bastards,” he cursed under his breath. He immediately fired off a mass text to the group chat:
“Start working right now. The boss is angry p>
Did they really think they could just pocket the cash and do nothing? No chance.
If Mr. Lance got angry, not only would they lose the rest of their payout, but they’d
also be forced to cough up the advance money they had already spent.
Zachary wasn’t even sure if those idiots would receive the message.
He tilted his head slightly, stealing a glance at Lawrence.
Fortunately, Lawrence seemed completely entranced by the music, a look of pure enjoyment on his face.
After a moment of thought, Zachary decided to get up and patrol the area.
Taking someone else’s money meant you were tied to them, and eating from Lawrence’s hand was never easy. If Lawrence snapped out of his trance and realized nothing had been done, all hell would break loose.
But as Zachary walked the perimeter, the entire stadium was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. He was fuming.
How was he supposed to explain this to the boss? Were they all completely useless? Taking the money and doing absolutely nothing
He wanted to drag a few team leaders out and tear into them, but the venue was so quiet that any sudden noise would draw immediate attention.

While Zachary was still pacing in frustration, a furious voice broke his train of thought.
The man speaking had a short temper. He had been completely engrossed in the performance when this nuisance walked right in front of him, blocking his view.
Before Zachary could even open his mouth to defend himself, another voice chimed in.
“I saw him sneaking around earlier too. He made me miss several seconds of the performance during the best part p>
“Yeah, he’s been pacing back and forth forever. What is he even looking for p>
“I bet he’s some kind of criminal p>
“What? A criminal p>
As the accusations began piling up from all sides, Zachary quickly bolted.
He wasn’t afraid of the police, but he was terrified of the security guards.
If the police showed up, they would just try to de-escalate the situation, since everyone here was a paying customer and they preferred to keep the peace.
But those security guards might actually dig into his background and expose what he was really doing.
Just then, the host’s voice echoed through the stadium, snapping the audience out of their trance. They erupted into thunderous applause, screaming Lune’s name at the top of their lungs.
Only then did Zachary finally feel safe.
Mira remained entirely unaware of
the minor drama. When she finished her set and returned to the backstage dressing room, Gavin teased her, “A divine performance. from the legendary fune p>
Owen chimed in, “Watching you play the piano makes my hands itch to switch careers. It’s a shame I don’t have a single artistic bone in my body p>
Mira rolled her eyes at them, ignoring their banter as she headed straight for the vanity to touch up her makeup and rest. She still had one more act to perform. Being a performer was exhausting work.
