Mira immediately breached the operating systems of both Shane and Roxanne’s mobile devices.
While she was logically certain that the father-daughter duo had orchestrated the hit on Ethan, having concrete digital evidence was always better.
However, she found absolutely no trace of the kill order on their personal devices.
Pivoting her attack, Mira hacked into Allen’s encrypted network. There, buried deep in the executive assistant’s outbox, she found the lethal directives. She quickly cloned the digital footprint and forwarded the undeniable proof to Ethan.
The next morning, before Mira had even left for the office, her portfolio manager called her in a panic.
“Boss, Roxanne just walked into the lobby with Mara. They’re aggressively demanding answers about Ethan’s obliterated fund p>
Right before the national exams, Mira had officially promoted one of her most
brilliant subordinates to the role of portfolio manager.
She was simply too busy juggling her empires to micromanage every trade, and she needed to start grooming her own executive board.

maliciously embezzled billions of dollars from the Mercer Group, and she’s threatening to sue us into the ground p>
Billions of dollars? That was practically seventy percent of the Mercer Group’s total liquidity. Honestly, without that capital, the Mercer Group was effectively a hollowed- out zombie corporation.
Of course they were having a meltdown.
“Then let her sue. Do you think I’m scared of her lawyers p>
Since Mira had orchestrated the massive capital drain in the first place, she had naturally anticipated this exact fallout.
“If they keep throwin a tantrum in my lobby, have security throw them out onto the pavement.
Tell them that if they have a problem, they can settle it in court. Otherwise, they need to shut the hell up p>

With his boss giving him the green light, the manager immediately grew a spine. “Security, throw them out p>
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on us! I demand to speak to your boss! I know damn well you people conspired with Ethan to embezzle our money!” Roxanne shrieked.
Just as they were screaming and thrashing against the security guards, Mira calmly strolled into the lobby.

Roxanne’s eyes nearly popped out of her skull in pure disbelief. When did Mira ascend to this level of untouchable power? How could a mere high school senior command a billion-dollar financial firm?
But Roxanne had survived the brutal corporate trenches for years; she knew the rules of engagement.
Forcing her face into a mask of composure, she walked over, sat down directly across from Mira, and launched her interrogation.
“Everyone on Wall Street knows your funds have never suffered a loss. So why is it that when Ethan invested billions of dollars of our capital, the portfolio catastrophically wiped out to zero?

Roxanne knew that throwing a tantrum would accomplish absolutely nothing and
would only result in them getting physically dragged out by security.
It was better to press for answers directly. If she was lucky, she might actually trick
Mira into slipping up and revealing some actionable intel.
Mara sat quietly beside Roxanne, not daring to utter a single word.
