Eleanor hesitated. Mira wasn’t sure why the old woman was so deeply attached to her, but a soft instinct urged her to accommodate her grandmother’s wish.
“It’s perfectly fine. I’ll be busy with my own things, but she can keep Rachel company at the house p>
“But your grandmother’s health Sebastian remained anxious.
“Don’t worry, Uncle Sebastian. The house is very quiet, and since I’m trained in medicine, I can keep a close eye on her p>
“Then we’ll leave her in your capable hands p>
Mrs. Higgins quickly packed Eleanor’s luggage and joined her in the car.
As Mira’s convoy pulled away from the estate, Lacey Quinn finally stepped out from the shadows of an alleyway.
When Eleanor had kicked her out the night before, Lacey hadn’t actually left the neighborhood. She had crashed at a childhood friend’s house a few doors down. She had been watching Mira’s visit from afar the entire day, only emerging once the coast was clear.
Owen escorted Mira’s group all the way to her new apartment building and followed them up.
“I’ll leave the Mercedes with you,” Owen offered. “I’ll have someone come pick me up p>
“Actually, Owen, could you help me order another custom vehicle? Something like the one I had in Melvion City.” Mira didn’t want it for the prestige; those custom builds were virtually indestructible and highly functional for security.
Owen gave her a flat look. “Do you think bespoke, armored supercars are sold at the local grocery store? They’re extremely limited runs. You secure an allocation, or you miss out entirely p>
Especially when it came to a brand like Lamborghini.
“Just have your old one shipped here. If another allocation opens up, I’ll let you know.” Securing that first vehicle had been a logistical nightmare.
“Owen, did you really go to that much trouble for me?” Mira looked at him with genuine surprise, as if seeing him in a new light.
A man like Owen loved his cars more than his own life, yet he had handed the keys
to that custom beast over to her without a second thought.
At the time, she hadn’t thought much of it since she had paid the invoice.
“Glad to see you finally have a conscience.
“The only reason I sold you that car was because you had a massive target on your back and too many enemies. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gotten near it p>
“Then why did you charge me two million dollars for it? If you had gifted it, I would have been deeply moved. I know for a fact you didn’t need the cash back then p>
“If I tried to give it to you for free, would you have taken it p>
Mira shook her head immediately. “No p>

Besides, what right did he have to hand over a multi-million-dollar gift? He didn’t want her overthinking his intentions.
“You’re the best, Owen. You’re basically my older brother now p>
“I don’t want to be your brother,” Owen muttered, his brow twitching.
When Eleanor walked into Mira’s new apartment, her eyes lit up. “Oh, this is gorgeous Perfect layout incredible natural light, and great cross-ventilation. It’s elegant but functional.
“And look at that balcony-plenty of space for a nice garden,” she praised, inspecting every corner.
Felix Grant had clearly gone above and beyond.
This was Mira’s first time stepping foot in the property; Felix had handled the
purchase and the entire interior design process.
Having a hyper-competent executive on the payroll was a luxury.
“Mira, consider this house a gift from me,” Eleanor said suddenly.
She pressed a sleek black card into Mira’s palm. There’s three million dollars on this. Whatever is left over after the house is your graduation gift. Do not say no. I know you don’t need the money but if you dont take it, won’t be able to sleep at night p>
She glanced around conspiratorially and leaned close to Mira’s ear. “This is from my private nest egg. Your aunt and Sera don’t know a thing about it. Keep it between us
