Mason glanced at his mother’s room and finally accepted it.
He knew that given Mira’s personality, once she offered something, she wouldn’t take it back.

During the holidays, most of the students had gone home. Aside from Master Ellis and Owen, there were two unfamiliar men present.
One had a completely shaved head and looked to be in his early thirties. The other wore his hair tied back in a small braid and seemed three to five years older.
Judging by their attire, they looked like outliers. They definitely had martial arts skills, though Mira couldn’t gauge their exact level.
“These two are my juniors,” Master Ellis told Mira.
“Hello,” Mira greeted obediently. Despite her confusion over how these “juniors” were more than a decade older than her, she knew that in many martial arts circles, seniority was based on when one joined, not age.
“Hahaha Mira’s greeting actually made Master Ellis laugh.
“Still laughing? How did you introduce us to your student?” the bald man, Silas Vane, snapped, clearly displeased. “Your student is an idiot too. Could guys like us really be her juniors p>
“Haha, Master praises you to high heaven normally, but finally someone called you an idiot today,” Owen gloated from the sidelines.
The Iron Wolves twitched their mouths, not expecting their boss, Owen, to have such a childish side.
“You’re the idiot! Being a junior has nothing to do with age. I joined the master first, so I’m the senior. Even if you’re eighty, if you joined after me, you have to call me your senior,” Jax Weaver, the one with the braid, retorted.
“Exactly, you two just joined today, so you are his juniors,” Master Ellis looked at the two men, clearly enjoying the drama.
“Who joined your school? In your dreams!” Jax jumped up in frustration.
“Aren’t you here to ask for my guidance?” Master Ellis asked.
“We came to visit you today and just happened to ask a question. Now we’re your students? Have some shame,” Silas jumped in again.
Taking a master wasn’t something done casually; people in their circles were very particular about it.
Jax fired back, “Have you never asked me a question before p>
Seeing he couldn’t answer that, Master Ellis quickly compromised. “Alright alright, we’ll call it event won’t be your master, okay? Do you know how many people want me as their master but can’t get in p>
The two men finally fell silent, turning their heads away to sulk.
Mira looked between them, finding the situation amusing. She joined in with Master Ellis, “Don’t be mad. I just won’t call you my juniors anymore p>
Hearing that, the two grew even angrier.
“What? You still wanted to call us your juniors? You’re just like your master—
ungrateful! Like master, like student p>
Master Ellis wasn’t having it. “Insult my student again, and you can get the hell out p>
The two men shut their mouths but didn’t leave.
Mira figured they probably needed Master Ellis for something important.
By then, Master Ellis had already started arranging lunch.
“We’ve eaten at the steakhouse plenty of times. Since it’s the holidays today, let’s bake some homemade pies together. It’ll be fun. The dough and fillings are ready; well assemble them shortly p>
“Master, you know how to cook?” Normally, he had a chef here, but the chef had probably gone home for the holidays and Master Ellis didn’t want to hire a stranger, so he was making do.
“Of course. The precision required for our pharmacological brewing is much higher
than cooking. With a little effort, anyone can be a master chef p>
“Does that mean I have the potential to be a master chef too p>
“Chef or no chef, if you have time, learn a few tricks. It’s handy to use at home p>
