“Hurry up and seal the deal with Wesley p>
Mara felt like dying when she received the order.
Hadn’t she been trying hard enough? She’d pouted, played the innocent, and used her feminine wiles, and used her feminine wiles—every trick in the book—just to get Wesley to agree to a date.
But who would have thought that not long after arriving at the stables, before they could even have any fun, they would run into that jinx, Natalie.
And now, not only was Wesley not with her, but he was off trying to cheer Natalie up. To make matters worse, that nemesis of hers, Mira, was standing right there, watching the whole humiliating spectacle. She had been utterly disgraced.
Just then, Lacey knocked on her door. “Mara, open up p>
The girl had said she was going out with friends but came back a short while later and locked herself in her room. Lacey worried something might have happened.
“Mom, I just want to rest p>
“If something’s wrong, tell me. Don’t keep it bottled up inside p>
Lacey sighed. She had thought Mara would be happy once Mira was gone, but she was still moping around all day.
Mira and her friends, on the other hand, had a great time. And since Natalie was happy, she covered everyone’s expenses for the day.
The next day, Mira did something unheard of and asked Mr. Ellis for a day off. She and Kieran then drove to the designated location.
It was a remote place called Cliffhaven.
They first arrived at a complex of abandoned factories. The entire area was desolate, with weeds in the courtyard growing as tall as a person.
There were three abandoned factories in total. Apparently, someone had built a food processing plant here a few years ago, but it went bankrupt because its products couldn’t keep up with market demand.
Now, the property belonged to the local government and had been left to decay due to its remote location.
The two of them walked around the entire area. Although the buildings were old, the walls and overall structures were intact. They were habitable with a little work, and it was clear no one had touched them. Mira breathed a sigh of relief.
If the buildings were too dilapidated, they wouldn’t get much of a buyout when the demolition happened.
“Boss, are we buying this place p>
“Yes p>
“These buildings aren’t in great shape. What’s the point of buying them p>
“I was thinking of raising chickens and pigs here. What do you think?” Mira said with a smile.
“Chickens and pigs? It’s possible, but p>
“We don’t know the first thing about it, right p>
Mira glanced around and whispered to Kieran, “In two months, they’re going to build
a major highway interchange here p>
Kieran understood immediately, though he assumed Mira had gotten the tip from some inside source.
Mira just knew that in her past life,
this cluster of abandoned factories
was bought by a company that
wanted to get into farming, and they
received twenty times their
mvestment back in compensation after the demolition.
“But… but this can’t be cheap. Do you have enough capital? Maybe we should transfer some of the company’s revenue over first p>
Kieran looked at the vast expanse of land and the rows of buildings, inevitably worrying about Mira’s finances.
Though desolate, the sheer number of buildings and the large area meant it wouldn’t be cheap.

Mira had made over thirty million dollars from trading Bitcoin a while back, and she hadn’t touched the bulk of it yet. She had only used a few milion for the initial investments, in her studio and record label.

Kieran was already completely in awe of this seventeen-year-old girl. Nothing she did, no skill she possessed or fortune she held, would surprise him anymore.
Next, they found a nearby villager to act as a guide and went to the relevant local government office.
The official in charge was thrilled to hear someone wanted to buy the abandoned factories. That derelict property could finally be turned into cash.
He was so worried they’d back out that he started his sales pitch. “It’s a great spot for farming. The buildings are intact so you’t have housing for your workers. Just a few
modifications and you’re good to go
