The three girls stepped off the elevator, and as they walked out of the building, Mira dialed Harvey’s number.

Elara rolled her eyes.
Leah simply stared, utterly bewildered.
“Knock it off,” Mira laughed.
“So, this Harvey guy… did you two already know each other p>
Leah asked, her curiosity piqued.
“Yeah, he’s an old friend. We were in the same class back in high school p>
Elara explained warmly.
“Wow! So three people from your exact class made it into Aethelgard p>
Elara nodded, a rare look of unmistakable pride on her face.
When they exited the dormitory, Harvey was already waiting for them.
Mira looked at him in surprise. “How did you get down here faster than us p>
“I told you, I’ve been waiting at your beck and call p>
Leah’s eyes practically popped out of her head. He was incredibly handsome, carrying himself with an effortless, old-money confidence she had never encountered before.
She eagerly wanted to introduce herself, but seeing how wrapped up he was in his conversation with Mira, she reluctantly decided to hold her tongue.
Not far away, Silas Vane and another guard began to approach. Mira subtly signaled for them to keep their distance, but Leah caught the gesture.

Mira realized her new roommate was quite the busybody. If someone subtly waved someone off, it usually meant they didn’t want to discuss it.
Still, it wasn’t a heavily guarded secret.

She looked like she was dying to ask a dozen more questions, but a quick glance at Elara’s completely unfazed expression made her pause.
She then snuck a peek at Harvey, who was already launching into his campus tour
guide routine for Mira, so Leah forced herself to drop the subject.
“Let’s start with the student life sector. We’ll be spending a lot of time here p>
Harvey said, taking the lead as the girls followed.
“See that building? That’s the guys’ dorms. I’m in Building A, so if you ever need me, that’s where I’ll be p>
“Why would I ever need to go to your dorm? Do they even let girls inside p>
Mira shot him an exasperated look.
If she actually showed up at the men’s dorms, rumors would immediately start flying that they were dating.
“Fair point. Just call me if you need anything.
Oh, look over there! There’s a convenience store. Want to check it out p>
Mira didn’t need anything, but she glanced inside from the entrance. It was a sprawling market stocked with nearly every daily necessity imaginable.
Elara and Leah, however, hurried inside to grab a few basic supplies.

See over there? That’s the campus bank, and next to it is a hair salon, though it looks a bit rundown p>
Harvey offered a running commentary as they strolled down the main thoroughfare. “Did you literally walk the entire campus yesterday p>
Mira asked, genuinely impressed.
“You bet I did. I scouted the whole place out for you guys. My legs were practically jello by the end of it p>
“Oh, please. You were just bored and wanted to explore p>
“Don’t believe me? Just wait until you try it. Let’s see if you can handle the trek today p>
Elara pointed toward the sidewalk. “Hey, aren’t those EcoRide bikes p>
“Yeah, I actually rode one of those yesterday. Even with the bike, I barely scratched the surface. Trying to see everything on foot is basically impossible p>
“Once we check out the dining hall, let’s grab some bikes p>
Mira suggested, eyeing the bright green bicycles lined up perfectly.
The dining hall was massive, already bustling with students grabbing an early lunch.
There were dozens of food stations
lining the walls. Mira scanned the digital menus, noting the impressive variety of international and regional ouisines available.
