“You’ve got it all wrong. I wasn’t sucking up to Vanessa. I just thought that since we’re roommates, we should try to get along,” Leah explained defensively.
“I saw her ignoring you yesterday, yet you kept trying to force a conversation with her,” Elara pointed out bluntly.
See? Even Elara couldn’t stand watching it unfold.
Elara might not have money, but she refused to ever stoop to flattery.
“Fine, I made a mistake yesterday. I’m done with them. I’m never speaking to them again,” Leah muttered.
“As long as you realize your mistake. Don’t be so spineless next time,” Elara warned her again.
Mira appreciated Elara’s straightforward nature. As for Leah, keeping a casual, friendly distance was fine; there was no need to be overly critical.
The freshman welcome assembly was basically identical to a high school opening ceremony. A massive crowd of students stood baking in the plaza.
Thankfully, it was morning. If it had been noon, the heat would have been unbearable.
After the national anthem, the school administrators and faculty representatives took turns giving their speeches.
What actually captured the crowd’s attention, however, were the two student hosts on stage.

The female host had her hair pinned back, revealing a long, elegant neck that resembled a swan. She wore a stunning cream-colored evening gown that highlighted her delicate collarbones and luminous skin. Her striking eyes were absolutely captivating.
How could someone look that flawless? She looked so perfect she almost seemed generated by Al.
The male host stood tall in a sharp black suit that accentuated his broad shoulders and narrow waist. With perfectly styled hair and a chiseled jawline, he looked like a movie star.
Even Mira found herself staring at the dynamic duo for a moment.
Down in the crowd, the students couldn’t help but compare themselves to the glamorous pair.
“Man, I wish she was my girlfriend. Never mind, I’m way out of my league,” Wyatt muttered to Cedric.
“If I could date a guy like that, my life would be complete. But I don’t stand a chance,” a girl nearby whispered.
“Don’t even bother looking. She’s completely unattainable. We have zero shot,” Wyatt added.
