When the server read back the final order, the students winced, acting as if they were paying the astronomical bill themselves.

“Do heiresses really take home leftovers?” Reece asked, amused.
“I’m not an heiress, and there’s no shame in not wasting good food,” Mira chuckled, completely unfazed by his teasing.

Mira simply smiled, leaving the question unanswered.
Just then, her phone buzzed. It was Owen.
“I need to take this. When the food gets here, go ahead and start without me,” she said, stepping out of the suite.
“Did she pay already?” Leah whispered to Elara.
Elara glared at her. “Do you honestly think Mira would dine-and-dash over this kind
of money?” She turned away, annoyed by the petty implication and fiercely
protective of her best friend.
Suitably chastised, Leah didn’t dare utter another word.

The two men were grabbing dinner at the Solflare Grand Hotel tonight, knowing nowhere else offered better privacy.
Since they were close to her campus, they had called to see if she wanted to join them.

“It’s fine. We start the Leadership & Discipline Orientation tomorrow, so it’s going to be a rough few weeks p>
“That boot camp is tough for regular students, but for you, it’ll feel like a warm-up.” Owen had absolute faith in her capabilities.
“No one is giving you a hard time on campus, are they?” Owen’s tone shifted, suddenly protective.
“And if they were? Are you going to come beat them up for me?” Mira teased.
