Laurence gaped at him, dismayed. “Zafra? How long will I be staying there p>
“Your return depends solely on the forgiveness of the one you’ve upset. Moreover, any damage you’ve done to the station’s reputation will be sorted out by our legal advisor, Glenda p>
Lucas made it clear he was done discussing the matter.

Out of the blue, Tessa recalled a critical detail. “Helena, you made the right call by insisting on taking that exam. Missing it would have meant a three-year wait for the next news anchor tryout p>
Helena noticed Betsey from the corner of her eye.
It clicked for Helena at that moment—the real reason Betsey had been so determined to prevent her from taking the exam.
Betsey was intent on closing every avenue of progression for Helena. Even if Helena had come out unscathed from the scandal, she wouldn’t have had a chance at a news anchor spot this year.
Disbelief morphed into resentment on Betsey’s face.
