Alden was full of energy. While Helena stayed with him, he typically stayed up later than she did and woke up earlier.

Helena pulled her finger back, a soft warmth rising in her chest. Alden, always the busy, driven man, must have been completely drained to sleep so soundly.

She spun around to find Alden, who had been sound asleep just moments ago, now propped up on one arm, grinning at her in a playful way.
The curtains were still drawn, letting in a soft, filtered light. The light softened Alden’s sharp features, giving him a surprisingly gentle and tender look.
“I was only trying not to disturb you.” Helena was briefly caught off guard by his charm but quickly regained her composure.

Alden first tried to ignore it, but the relentless ringing soon got to him, causing him to frown and purse his lips.
