Zayden leaned back in his chair, mulling over the details Michael had shared just an hour prior. The report was clear: Helena was indeed involved with a handsome young man from a well-off family. However, the man’s status as an illegitimate son meant he stood to inherit nothing. Worse, he had earned a reputation for wasting his days in shady nightclubs, charming wealthy women into lavishing money on him—essentially, a glorified playboy for hire.
Of course, this entire narrative was the very gossip Alden had instructed Xavier to plant. Zayden had initially dismissed the rumors, finding them too convenient. But now, after hearing what Helena had said, the pieces seemed to fit all too well. This slick young man clearly had some tricks up his sleeve—enough to make Helena lose herself in a hopeless infatuation, putting his interests above her own.
Contempt twisted Zayden’s features. He simply couldn’t fathom that Helena would sacrifice real, hard-won benefits for the sake of such a parasitic lover.
“If you can’t appreciate the trouble I’ve gone through for you, Helena, then there’s no point in continuing this conversation.” His tone was cold and final. He refused to budge on the matter of the land and ended the meeting without another word.
Striding out, he made his way directly to Donn’s office.

Zayden cut him off sharply. “I am interested in investing. But if I visit Genie TV again and still see Ms. Ellis around, won’t I just be annoyed all over again p>
