Alden’s lips twisted into a subtle smile, but he quickly checked himself, choosing not to tease her further.

Helena felt a flutter in her chest.
The memory of her recent secret kiss with Alden made her cheeks heat up and her head spin.
She quickly dismissed it, saying, “Dominick, let’s focus on the matter at hand. Did you dispatch the report on the incident? We should be looking into what caused it while we’re here p>
Dominick smacked his forehead, realizing his lapse. “Ah, yes, I need to prepare that news update p>
“I’ll contribute,” suggested Helena, keen to understand more about the accident.
However, she couldn’t dismiss the unsettling feeling that lingered. The grim warning from Rylan resonated in her mind, chilling her to the bone.
She considered the possibility that the accident was intentionally manipulated.
“Mr. Wilson, the culprit has been identified. It’s the construction materials supplier, and he has ties to Rylan. This man swapped out the specified materials for inferior ones, leading to the disaster. He will make a public apology and unequivocally dissociate himself from Wilson Group at the press conference,” Xavier said, offering what he believed was the most appropriate course of action.
Alden squeezed the bridge of his nose, his face etched with concern. “No. Hold him. Don’t release him. I will be the one to speak at the press conference p>
Xavier paused, uncertainty flickering across his face. “But isn’t that playing into Rylan’s hands p>

A confrontation as severe as this at the press conference could thrust the Wilson Group into the full glare of the media spotlight. Rylan was strategically setting himself up as the hero, ready to take over the project.
Alden was steadfast in his resolve to prevent Rylan from touching this project.
He was indifferent to other aspects of the Wilson Group’s portfolio, but the redevelopment project was exceptional, born from his late mother’s vision. Even the redevelopment design drafts were modifications based on his mother’s original plans.
Alden remained at Wilson Group for two reasons: his grandmother and this project.

Alden had always admired Helena’s dedication to her job.
