Meanwhile, on the other end, Helena set the phone down and promptly pulled the blanket over her head in a panic. Several quiet moments passed before she peeked out from under the covers and asked in a small voice, “Do you think Ms. Sutter knows what we did last night? I mean… sleeping in, asking for a day off—how am I ever going to look anyone in the eye tomorrow p>
“Why not? We’re husband and wife. There’s nothing unusual about it.” Alden chuckled softly while offering her comfort.
