At the sound of Alden’s name, Terry visibly recoiled, as if struck by an invisible hand. But he quickly curved his lips into a mocking smirk. “You’re talking about Alden? Word is his old ear injury’s acting up again, right? Last I heard, he went to Corland—no one’s even sure if he’s still breathing.” That was exactly why Terry felt bold enough to badger Helena so shamelessly.
