Helena’s face flushed deeply. She muttered a hurried apology, grabbed her belongings, and dashed out.
Outside the towering offices of Star Wish Investments, the sight of Dario provided a much-needed comfort.
That CEO was nothing short of intimidating.
How had he managed to amass such an empire? Could there be some trickery involved, perhaps even manipulation?
Inside Dario’s car, Helena’s thoughts swirled, and she remained pensive.
Unbeknownst to her, a vehicle had begun to follow them.
Dario noticed the tail through his mirror. Once they arrived at their office at Nexus TV, he quickly stepped out to make a crucial phone call.
“Someone is following her,” he said on the call. “I suspect it’s connected to the Wilson family—Alden has unintentionally entangled her in their internal strife p>
Helena spent the day swamped in work, slowly dispelling the unnerving image of the CEO from her mind.
Thinking she hadn’t convinced the CEO, Helena decided to cheer up Alden with a homemade meal.
After over an hour in the kitchen, she stepped out—and sure enough, Alden had already returned.
He was showering, leaving the living room strewn with papers from work.
Casually picking them up, Helena was surprised to find they were all documents tied to the contentious redevelopment project.
