Without hesitation, Colton stepped inside the café, slipped the staff a generous tip, and quickly obtained the surveillance footage from the previous night. Using the timestamp Elyse indicated, he slowly advanced through the recording until something caught his eye. His gaze sharpened as it fixed on a red figure near the café entrance — only a back facing the camera, a shadowed outline, and the faint suggestion of a side profile.
No clear confirmation was possible, but the resemblance to Patsy was impossible to ignore.
Tension gathered in Colton’s expression as his eyes narrowed. Was it possible that his sister, declared dead seven years ago, was still alive?
At the same time, inside a hotel room, Asher was replaying the same surveillance footage yet again.
