Outside Kristine’s apartment, Asher lingered by the door, his brows knit in concern. For an entire day and night he had tried calling her, over and over, without an answer. In the end, he had simply come to her building himself.

He narrowed his gaze, pouring every ounce of restraint he had into holding back the rage surging inside him. Kristine was no longer the gentle woman he once knew.
