Two hours later, Colton came face to face with Kristine on the deserted observation deck of a cruise liner. Elyse stood behind her, bound tightly. The tape sealing Elyse’s lips and the angry bruises around her wrists made Colton’s expression darken.
“Kristine, is this what victory looks like to you?” His very first words landed like an accusation.

The moment the figure was spoken aloud, Watson — positioned behind her — straightened. His pulse spiked. Jonas had remained outside to keep watch, leaving him alone before Colton, his nerves buzzing.
