Kristine waited until she was gone, then dropped her gaze to her phone. She pulled up the show’s official Twitter comments, scrolling so intently that she never noticed anyone approaching.
When she finally glanced up, she was startled to find Colton standing in the doorway.

Colton saw her guard go up, and his expression darkened. “Kristine, I helped you out p>

Colton’s admission hardly surprised Kristine. Maybe she had simply grown numb. Pain barely registered anymore.
She stared at him, her eyes empty. “You really are an incredible boyfriend, Colton. You’d do anything for your girlfriend — even if it means trampling someone else p>
