Chapter 480
Asher glanced toward the car door, convinced Kristine was inside. Without warning, he lunged forward and threw a punch aimed at Colton’s stomach.
Colton dodged quickly, but realized a split second too late that it was a feint. Asher already had his hand on the car door handle.
Colton reacted by kicking Asher’s wheelchair. Even with the brakes on, the chair skidded backward, and Asher was thrown from it by the impact. The sudden distance from the car only sharpened the determination in his eyes.
Before he could recover, Colton’s fist came flying at his face.
Asher shifted to dodge it and drove his fist hard into Colton’s chest.
The sounds of the brawl brought Tripp running out from inside the house. “What the hell is going on?” he demanded, stopping short when he saw them fighting, unsure whether to intervene.
Danica and Nathan stood frozen, stunned by the sudden violence.
“What’s the plan?” one of the guards asked Tripp.
Both men were evenly matched. If no one stopped them, they were both going to end up seriously hurt.
Tripp didn’t know what to do — but Nathan did.
He marched into the living room and dragged Bobby outside.
“You don’t want to see your boss get beaten up, do you?” Nathan asked.
Bobby looked up just as Asher landed a heavy punch squarely in Colton’s stomach. His face changed instantly.
Colton hit back just as hard, but watching the two of them tear into each other made Bobby feel sick.
“You’re the only one who can end this!” Nathan shouted.
Bobby’s eyes went wide. “Me? What can I do?”
He was just a low-level guy. He had no idea how to stop something like this.
“Yes, you! If Kristine gets here, they’ll stop,” Nathan pressed.
Bobby’s expression darkened with worry. If he told them where Kristine was, the fight would stop — but Colton would probably kill him for it. And the truth was, he honestly had no idea where she was.
“I’m telling you, I have no idea where she is,” Bobby said, his voice desperate.
Since Kristine had come back, she had been kept at the villa in Crestwood — a place locked down tighter than any of Colton’s other houses. Asher showing up like this had completely caught him off guard.
Nathan and Tripp exchanged a glance. They could tell Bobby was telling the truth.
But if they couldn’t find Kristine…
They turned back to the fight, where Colton and Asher were still beating each other bloody.
“We’re going to have to jump in and pull them apart ourselves,” Tripp said, his face grim.
Nathan gave a quick nod. He had no better ideas.
Tripp moved toward the two men with two beefy bodyguards close behind him. But before they could reach them, the fighters suddenly shoved each other away.
Tripp stopped in his tracks. Both Asher and Colton were battered and bruised.
Asher stared Colton down, chest heaving. “Is that the best you can do, Colton? I expected more,” he spat.
