Ever since Colton left Eyling with his people some time ago, a woman with a figure uncannily similar to Patsy’s had started appearing regularly. But each time Colton’s team returned to Eyling, the mysterious woman vanished without a trace. They tried pretending to leave, lurking in the shadows and waiting — but the woman seemed to sense something was off and never showed again.
Elyse had then proposed to Colton that she go home first. If it looked as though everyone had withdrawn from Eyling, the woman’s guard might drop and she might finally reveal herself. Because Colton cared deeply for Patsy, he agreed without hesitation.
Still, since returning, Elyse could feel an unmistakable chill in how he treated her — his warmth replaced by a noticeable distance. She angled her gaze downward, her eyes settling on Kristine below with thinly veiled contempt.
After finishing her tour of the side gallery, Kristine turned to Vance. “I need to use the restroom p>
She had drunk too much water before arriving and couldn’t hold it any longer.
Vance’s smile was reassuring. “Go ahead p>
A faint blush colored her cheeks as Kristine hurried off.
She had just finished when voices drifted in from the hallway. Two women were deep in conversation just outside.

“Didn’t Miss Lloyd leave the country not long ago? What’s she doing back here now p>

Kristine pressed the flush button.
A sudden rush of water filled the room, and both women at the sinks startled in surprise.
Kristine waited until the sounds beyond the stall door disappeared completely. Only then did she pull it open and step outside.
She caught her reflection in the mirror and curved her lips faintly. Colton and Elyse ending up together was inevitable. There was nothing unexpected about it.
She turned on the tap, rinsed her face, and once her expression had settled, left the restroom.
She had barely taken a few steps when a powerful grip closed around her wrist.
Before a shout could escape her, she recognized who was holding her. It was Colton.
Embarrassment and irritation surged as she struggled, but his grasp was unyielding. He dragged her toward the backyard before she finally wrenched herself free.

The moment the words left her mouth, her chin was forced upward.

Kristine almost laughed. What reason did he have to be upset?
“You’re unbelievable, Kristine,” Colton said sharply, his voice laced with contempt. “It’s only been a few days, and you’ve already moved on. No wonder you rushed to leave me. K&C Entertainment matters so much to you because of Vance, doesn’t it p>
Kristine’s brows knit together at the accusation.
“You even started a company so he wouldn’t have to answer to anyone else. How thoughtful of you p>
Kristine raised her hand to strike him, snapping, “Not everyone is as shameless as you, Colton p>
“Shameless?” Colton caught her wrist before it could land. “How exactly am I shameless p>
“You insisted Elyse wasn’t involved, yet how soon after our wedding did you decide to marry her p>
“Who told you I planned to marry Elyse?” His voice tightened.
