The moment they reached the villa and the locks disengaged, she pushed the door open and stepped out. Creating distance from Colton mattered more to her than where she ended up, even if it meant returning here. Moving quickly, she climbed the stairs and vanished from sight at the far end.
From below, Colton stared at the now-empty second floor, the pounding in his temples growing worse.
