Chapter 30:
When Amelia pressed the power button on her phone, the screen stubbornly remained black, no matter how many times she tried. All her data and contacts were on it, and a call from the ward could come at any minute. Thinking about this, she fixed Dayna with a cold glare.
Dayna had just smashed Amelia’s phone in a fit of anger, and now, faced with Amelia’s icy stare, her face turned pale with fear.
Meanwhile, Janessa kept ordering the staff to move faster. Once everything Amelia owned was set back in place, she made her way over to Amelia.
“Amelia, I’ve done what you wanted. Now let go of Dayna p>

A scream from Dayna was the only response Janessa received. Dayna’s last stunt had involved a dramatic fall down the staircase, injuring her hand. Amelia’s move this time made the injury sting all over again.
Though anger flickered across Janessa’s face, the situation forced her to calm down. Knowing Dayna had broken Amelia’s phone, Janessa offered compensation, which led Amelia to release Dayna. Dayna cried that her hand was broken and asked Janessa to take her to the hospital.
Amelia had made only a brief visit home, yet almost the entire Flynn family was now bound for the hospital because of her. No one among the staff would dare show her disrespect.
Amelia scanned her room with a cool expression, locked the door after she stepped out, and carried a wooden box as she left. Settling into the car, she opened the box.
Inside were various high-end jewelry pieces, gifts she had received since childhood, most of them bought by Katrina. Amelia intended to sell these items and use the money to repay Wyatt. After all, he had shouldered her grandmother’s hospital bills. She believed she needed to repay him for that.
After closing the box, Amelia started the car.
By the time she arrived home, the hour had crept well past midnight. She took out her keys, balancing the box against her hip, and fumbled to unlock the door. Suddenly, footsteps pounded through the quiet hallway, their urgency slicing through the night air.
She quickly turned the key, feeling the footsteps closing in. The smell of liquor drifted toward her. Without thinking, she kicked backward, landing a strike as a familiar yelp echoed behind her. She turned and saw Carlee sprawled on the floor.
Dropping her bag, Amelia let the box fall and rushed to help Carlee into her home, reaching out as she said, “What are you doing here? You could have said something p>
“I sent that photo to you, but you never replied to me, and I couldn’t reach you,” Carlee grumbled. “I got worried and hurried over without even finishing my drink. Is this how you welcome your friends? That kick hurt, you know p>
“Are you alright? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?” Concern laced Amelia’s voice as she looked at Carlee.
“I’m not setting foot in any p>
