Chapter 367:
At the Davis Group.
Rocco delivered his report. “Mrs. Stewart, just as you foresaw, the Figueroa Group has taken over the cloud server project p>
Amelia’s eyes glinted with a trace of amusement. “Has the budget increased p>
“Yes, per your suggestion, we doubled it from the original amount p>
“A forty-million-dollar project. Did no one at the Figueroa Group bother to investigate?” Amelia mused.
“Not only did they skip any due diligence, but their person in charge paid the full amount upfront. Mr. Francis already transferred twenty million to our account and said to contact him if we have more deals like this p>
Rocco couldn’t help but grin, recalling the moment.

Despite the project’s shaky foundation, Huntley Figueroa had signed the contract without a second thought and wired the entire forty million.
But Rocco’s amusement faded into concern when he thought of Huntley’s status. “Mrs. Stewart, if the Figueroa Group realizes we set this up, could they come after us p>
“We didn’t force them to take the project. Their guy jumped at the chance, didn’t he?” Amelia replied coolly.
Her words eased Rocco’s worries.
Shifting topics, Amelia asked about the app development. “Have we secured a new team to replace Dustin’s p>
“Yes, the team leader is Ritchie Benson, and his group consists of computer science students from Kretol University p>
“Ritchie Benson?” Amelia repeated. “Is he related to Matias p>
Rocco nodded with a chuckle. “He is Matias’ cousin. But we didn’t know of the connection when we found him. Ritchie has got a solid reputation at the Entrepreneurship Center of Kretol University p>
“If his team checks out technically, go ahead and sign them. But to avoid past problems, keep it under wraps until the contract is signed, then bring them to the office,” Amelia instructed.
“Understood,” Rocco replied.
Just as he wrapped up his report, Amelia’s phone buzzed.
arlee’s voice came through, laced with concern. “I heard your company lost a few projects. Why not ask Wyatt for help p>
Carlee, new to the Larson Group and still learning the ropes of business, called Amelia the moment she heard the news.
Amelia laughed softly, sensing her friend’s worry. “No need. I’ve got this handled p>
Thinking of Rocco’s report, she added, “Besides, the matter is already resolved.” The Figueroa Group might have snatched her projects, but she had turned the tables, getting twenty million from them.
Carlee, unfamiliar with the dynamics in Hans, didn’t press the matter further once she heard Amelia had resolved the issue.
At that moment, Amelia recalled Sanford’s earlier request in Hans.
Before Carlee could end the call, Amelia said with a smile, “Carlee, how about I set you up with someone p>
Caught off guard by Amelia’s playful tone, Carlee assumed it was a joke and agreed readily. “Sure, why not p>
“Perfect. You can meet him today. I’ll send you the time and place for tonight soon,” Amelia replied.
“Wait, you’re serious?” Carlee asked, startled.
“Do you think I would joke about such a thing?” Amelia said.
Realizing Amelia was serious, Carlee tried to backtrack, but Amelia had already hung up before she could say anything. When Carlee called back, Amelia’s line was busy.
“Wyatt, are you free to talk now?” After settling things with Carlee, Amelia dialed Wyatt’s number to discuss the matter with him.
The call connected, and she hesitated, worried she might be interrupting his work.
“I just wrapped up work. I’m free now,” Wyatt replied warmly.
As he spoke, he glanced around the conference room, where the air grew tense. Davin, seated nearby, quickly switched off his recording pen.
Reassured, Amelia said, “I already told Carlee I’ll introduce her to Sanford. Can you let Sanford know? It’s set for tonight p>
“No problem. I’ll tell him right away,” Wyatt said.
“Oh, and I handled the Figueroa Group situation. Managed to pull twenty million out of them…” Unaware Wyatt was in a meeting, Amelia shared the details of the matter at a leisurely pace.
The executives in the room stayed silent, wary of their formidable boss, quietly thanking the person on the other end of the line for lightening the mood.
Wyatt, seated at the head of the table, listened patiently. When Amelia finished, he remarked with pride, “Your countermove was brilliant, even better than I expected p>
Amelia’s mood lifted further at Wyatt’s heartfelt praise.
As she prepared to end the call, Wyatt seemed reluctant to let her go. “Amelia, are you done with work p>
“I’ve finished my tasks for today p>
“I’ll go pick you up,” Wyatt quickly said.
Amelia glanced at the clock — it was just past four, still an hour before her workday typically ended.
As Wyatt hung up and stood to leave, Davin spoke up. “Mr. Stewart, should we continue the meeting p>
“You carry on and report the results to me later,” Wyatt replied, reverting to his usual stern demeanor.
“Understood,” Davin said.
As Wyatt left, the senior executives in the room let out a collective sigh of relief.
