Chapter 353:
At the Mills family estate.
Marcelo fixed Lennie with a stern gaze. “Speak now. Who taught you all of this p>
Lennie felt uneasy, and he mumbled, “No one. I came up with it myself p>
“Are you certain?” Marcelo pressed, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.
Under Marcelo’s piercing stare, Lennie grew even more nervous.
After leaving Hillside Villa, Davin had slipped him a detailed strategy to contain the mess.
Following the plan, Lennie had coordinated with regulatory agencies to inspect the Mills Group’s new property development. For any substandard sections, he had ordered a full reconstruction. Certificates proving the fixes were displayed at the sales office, paired with steep discounts on the original prices.

Through these decisive steps, the project Colton had botched was swiftly stabilized. Buyers who had demanded refunds began retracting their requests, trusting the Mills family’s established reputation in Kretol.
When Marcelo heard of this turnaround, he immediately called Lennie to the estate. He found it hard to believe his grandson, who had spent over two decades doing nothing meaningful, had suddenly become a capable businessman.
Lennie had arrived expecting praise, but Marcelo’s probing tone left him unable to meet his eyes.
Minutes later, Lennie spilled the truth.
He recounted how Wyatt had reached out to him and how Davin had provided the plan, though he carefully omitted the part about signing the acquisition contract.
After hearing his confession, Marcelo nodded, accepting the explanation, and motioned for him to leave.
Lennie hurried toward the door, but Marcelo’s voice stopped him. “Hold on p>
Lennie’s heart raced again as he turned back to Marcelo with an uneasy expression. “Yes, Grandpa p>
“Wyatt helped you. You owe him a gesture of gratitude,” Marcelo said.
The acquisition contract was already a major gesture, but Lennie kept that to himself. Smiling, he replied, “Of course. I’ll arrange something when I’m back p>
“I’ve already prepared a gift for him,” Marcelo interjected, glancing at Luka, who quickly left.
Moments later, Luka returned from Marcelo’s study with a rolled-up painting.
At Marcelo’s nod, Luka handed it to Lennie.
Staring at the white roll in his hands, Lennie asked quietly, “Grandpa, this is the gesture you meant? It’s a bit p>
“Deliver this painting to Wyatt. Tell him it’s my thanks. He’ll know what it means p>
Lennie wanted to ask more, but the clear disdain in Marcelo’s eyes silenced him.
After Lennie left, Marcelo muttered, “I’m every bit Conroy’s equal, so why is my grandson so far behind Wyatt p>
Luka had no response for that.
After a pause, he said, “Lennie may not have a head for business, but his heart’s in the right place p>
“You might as well say he’s foolish and naive,” Marcelo remarked.
Luka was rendered speechless.
Clutching the rolled painting, Lennie strolled out of the estate. As he approached his car, he spotted Colton climbing out of his own vehicle and promptly blocked his path.
“Well, look who it is, my so-called brilliant cousin!” Lennie taunted with a smirk.
Colton, itching to snap back, noticed the estate guards nearby and restrained himself, glaring at Lennie instead. “Get out of my way p>
“I won’t!” Lennie replied, his tone smug and defiant.
Colton’s fists tightened. He tried to sidestep Lennie, but Lennie mirrored his every move. After several failed attempts, Colton grabbed Lennie’s collar in frustration.
“Help! Colton’s about to hit me!” Lennie shouted.
“Shut up!” Colton growled, forcing himself to let go of Lennie.
Seeing Lennie’s smug grin, Colton said, “What are you so proud of? You think I don’t know Wyatt has been pulling your strings p>
His words didn’t make Lennie angry. He only grinned wider. “You know, I should thank you, Colton. If you hadn’t crossed Wyatt, I would never have gotten this opportunity p>
Laughing loudly, Lennie hopped into his sports car. As it roared to life, the exhaust blasted Colton’s face.
Colton’s eyes burned with resentment as he watched the car vanish around the corner.
Instead of entering the estate, he pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and said, “I’ve made my decision. I will work with you p>
