Chapter 159:
He started to walk off, but Amelia called after him, “Let me go with you p>
Wyatt’s reluctance was plain, so she continued, “All of this happened because of me. I owe it to everyone to deal with this p>
Her tone stayed soft, but she met his gaze with unwavering resolve. Soon, she and Wyatt left together. Carlee, unable to keep quiet, turned to Barrie and asked, “Do you think they’ll still split up in the end p>
Barrie just burst out laughing and hurried to catch up to the pair.
The moment Amelia and Wyatt stepped into the Stewart Mansion, they could see that a crowd filled the grand living room. Conroy had taken the main seat, with others lining the sides. Nearby, Della watched Wyatt and Amelia with a trace of worry.
After discovering Amelia’s infertility, Della had found herself troubled in a way that no other news had managed to unsettle her. Even so, remembering Wyatt’s words, she decided to stand beside Amelia to show her support.
Amelia took notice of Della’s gesture and was surprised. In her mind, she had braced herself for rejection once everyone knew she couldn’t have children.
True enough, Della had felt a pang of disappointment at first when she learned the news. However, Wyatt had spelled it out for Della—he had no intention of being with anyone but Amelia. He’d even gone so far as to suggest Della try for another child herself, which earned him a few well-placed punches. Still, that had made it clear to Della that Wyatt would never divorce Amelia.

Infertility was a challenge, but with today’s advanced science…
After several days spent mulling things over, Della managed to interact with Amelia just as warmly as before.
“You really have some nerve walking in here. If I were you, I’d be too embarrassed to even show my face. A woman who can’t have children—what makes you think you deserve a place in the Stewart family, you—ouch!” Pattie’s taunt hung in the air, sharp and mocking. The words had barely left her mouth when a loud slap silenced her, forcing out a sudden cry.
The sharp noise drew Amelia’s gaze to Pattie. She caught sight of a boy standing nearby, his features strikingly similar to Pattie’s. In that instant, she figured out who they must be: Rory and Pattie, Wyatt’s half-brother and half-sister.
“How dare you say something so disrespectful to my wife before any of the elders here speak? Is this what Jewell and Kamila taught you? You have no manners at all.” Della, fiercely loyal, had regarded Amelia as one of her own from the moment she wed Wyatt. The sting of Pattie’s words left Della with no choice but to deliver that slap.
On the other side of the room, Amor Stewart eyed the group with a curl of her lips and spoke directly to Della. “Della, Pattie may not be your flesh and blood, but she’s still Jewell’s child. What gives you the right to strike her p>
The rift between Amor and Hamlin was large, but since Wyatt’s actions had left Hamlin in a coma, Amor’s bitterness toward Della had only sharpened. She had even gone so far as to befriend Kamila just to frustrate Della.
Della’s temper flared at Amor’s words. She was ready to snap back when the sound of footsteps echoed.
Jewell and Kamila entered just then, and Amelia couldn’t help but notice how the rest of the group looked almost eager for drama when they arrived. Della’s eyes reddened instantly. Wyatt’s grip on Amelia’s hand also tightened slightly.
