Chapter 361:
“Well done on assuming command of the Williamson Group,” Wyatt said to Denny.
“On that note, I owe you a thank-you,” Denny responded.
Had Wyatt not tipped him off about Terrell’s questionable parentage, he couldn’t have seized the reins of the Williamson Group with such ease. Denny’s thanks were merely out of politeness.
Much to Denny’s surprise, Wyatt cut straight to the chase. “If you’re genuinely grateful, Mr. Williamson, then steer clear of bidding against me for that choice plot of land today p>
Denny was caught off guard by Wyatt’s directness.
After all, the event was widely seen as a mere schmoozing opportunity. Only the three powerhouses in Hans were privy to its true aim — the coveted property adjacent to Hans Airport. The information had been kept under wraps to ward off extra rivals.
“How on earth did you learn about that?” Denny inquired, utterly baffled.
“You’ve yet to address my earlier words, Mr. Williamson,” Wyatt said.
At that, Denny stated firmly, “I’m set on claiming that land. Even if I give up, the Chadwick family and Figueroa family certainly won’t p>
“Ah, so the rumor about revamping that plot of land is true?” Wyatt said with a light laugh.
Wyatt had caught wind of these murmurs but lacked confirmation. Denny’s slip of the tongue sealed it for him.

Realizing that Wyatt had cleverly drawn the secret from him, Denny, who was typically the picture of poise and grace, let a curse escape his lips.
“Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Stewart, a pleasure to cross paths with you once more,” Shepard said as he walked over, his eyes involuntarily drawn to Amelia’s features.
The resemblance was uncanny.
Amelia remembered Shepard’s piercing stare from their last meeting and furrowed her brow ever so slightly.
Denny, oblivious to what had happened between them, picked up on the tension in the air.
Spotting Shepard’s glances repeatedly drifting toward Amelia, Denny stepped protectively by her side and asked Shepard, “Mr. Chadwick, are you acquainted with Amelia p>
Shepard’s expression wavered at Denny’s closeness to Amelia, but he soon flashed a smile and said, “We’ve encountered each other once before p>
Just then, Brielle approached and said, “Shepard, didn’t you say you had important matters to attend to? Is flirting with women part of that plan? You p>
“What nonsense are you uttering? Shut up!” Shepard scowled reflexively at the sound of Brielle’s voice.
Yet, before Amelia and Wyatt, he still introduced Brielle with a chilly tone, saying, “This is my little sister; her name is p>
“No introductions necessary, Mr. Chadwick. I’ve already met Miss Chadwick before,” Amelia interjected, her voice laced with irony, which made Shepard shoot a look at Brielle.
Fearing Amelia might spill the beans about the boutique incident, Brielle quickly tugged Shepard away.
Noticing Amelia watch the Chadwick siblings leave, Wyatt murmured softly, “Amelia, what has captured your attention p>
“Miss Chadwick’s gold pendant seems oddly familiar,” Amelia answered, squinting thoughtfully.
Wyatt, who had his attention on Amelia the entire time, hadn’t noticed Brielle’s jewelry. “Are you fond of such pendants? Which style catches your eye? I’ll arrange for one to be acquired for you,” he said.
Amelia paused at Wyatt’s offer, then broke into a chuckle.
Catching his confused look, she clarified, “It’s not that I like gold pendants. The pattern on hers simply jogged my memory of one from my childhood. Still, these pieces are all similar, so I could be mistaken p>
With Wyatt and Denny holding esteemed positions, a stream of guests flocked to them for cordial chats.
Seeing that, Amelia gestured toward the lounge spot near the fountain and told Wyatt, “You two manage the mingling; I’ll rest for a moment over there p>
Aware that Sanford was merely there for appearances, Amelia briefly thought of asking him to join her. But noticing his undivided attention on the buffet treats, she gave up on the idea and strolled to the resting area alone.
The resting area was elegantly arranged in a circular layout, with a grand fountain sparkling at its heart, obscuring Amelia’s view of Brielle seated on the opposite side.
“Brielle, why are you so fixated on that woman? Who is she?” Sadie Figueroa, the daughter of the Figueroa family’s eldest son, asked.
Without missing a beat, Brielle snapped, “Just a bitch p>
Brielle skirted around her unspoken affection for Wyatt, instead weaving an embellished tale of what had happened at the mall. In her story, Amelia emerged as a scheming antagonist, quick to claim what wasn’t hers.
“She had the gall to steal from you? Let’s devise a plan to teach her a lesson!” Sadie said, leaning in to murmur a cunning scheme to Brielle.
At Sadie’s suggestion, a glint of spite flickered in Brielle’s eyes, though she put on a show of hesitation, saying, “Don’t you think that is going a bit too far p>
