Chapter 303:
Jasiah barely managed to get his words out before a loud clatter cut him off. He spun around, eyes locking on the cage behind him.
Only when he saw the tranquilizer dart lodged in the wolf’s neck did Jasiah allow himself to exhale, his relief evident.
The moment the wolf hit the ground, unconscious, Jasiah threw open the iron gate and dashed to Denny without a second thought.
“Denny, can you hear me? Quick, we need a doctor in here!” he shouted. Despite having been in grave danger, Denny had managed to hang on for a while. Once the wolf collapsed, though, he crumpled and blacked out.
Blood soaked Denny’s clothes, sending Jasiah into a panic as he barked at the bodyguards to summon a doctor.

When the doctor arrived, his first move was to insist Denny be taken to the hospital, but Jasiah flatly refused.
Catching Amelia’s confused look, Jasiah let out a weary sigh. “Even if he gets to the hospital, as soon as he wakes up, he’ll check himself out again p>
From Jasiah’s explanation, Amelia pieced together that Denny was battling severe depression, and that this chaos had roots in his struggle with his own mind.
During his episodes, Denny didn’t want to see anyone.
Even knowing it was an illness, Amelia still found herself asking, “So he’d rather be around those wild animals than talk to people p>
Her gaze drifted to the fierce beasts, disbelief clouding her features.
Jasiah nodded. “The animals in the training grounds? They’re Denny’s pets p>
“Including the wolf that nearly tore him apart just now?” she asked, incredulous.
Jasiah almost explained that the wolf had only just been delivered to Hans and was an exception, but he caught himself—he hadn’t brought Amelia here to talk about the animals. Turning to Wyatt, conflicted, he said, “Mr. Stewart, you’ve dug into Terrell’s past. Does that mean you know who he really is p>
Wyatt answered, “I don’t p>
Once Wyatt noticed that Denny’s feelings for Amelia ran deeper than friendship, he decided to look into him, which brought the Williamson family under scrutiny as well. Upon uncovering something strange about Terrell’s lineage, Wyatt halted the investigation, unwilling to dig too deeply into the Williamsons’ secrets.
Even so, Jasiah couldn’t hold back the truth. Terrell wasn’t just any relative; he was Denny’s older brother through their mother, but his biological father was Eaton Williamson—the head of the Williamson family—not Denny’s father. Terrell was both Denny’s older brother and his uncle.
For years, Eaton never hid his preference. He lavished praise and attention on Terrell, leaving Denny in the shadows. Most assumed Terrell’s standing as eldest grandson explained everything. The real reason, however, was that Terrell was Eaton’s son.
Jasiah’s confession left Amelia stunned, her eyes widening, while even Wyatt couldn’t mask a flicker of surprise. Sarcasm soon edged his features.
“Does Denny’s father know about this?” Amelia asked.
Jasiah’s face darkened, anger simmering beneath the surface. Reading his expression, Amelia pieced it together. “He knew all along p>
Jasiah nodded. Not only was Denny’s father aware, he had helped keep the secret buried.
After learning the truth, Amelia couldn’t help but feel for Denny.
A faint stir interrupted them. Denny had woken. Jasiah hurried to his side.
Propped weakly against the pillows, Denny looked as pale as chalk. His arm, wrapped in bloodied bandages, lay at his side, yet he seemed not to feel the pain at all. Spotting Amelia, he offered a gentle smile. “You’re here, Amelia p>
The memory of the animal enclosure lingered in Amelia’s mind, shadowing her face with worry. “Denny, promise me you won’t do something like that again p>
“It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. It was an accident this time,” Denny replied.
That response deepened Amelia’s frown, worry creasing her features. Denny’s eyes drifted to Wyatt, and the hint of a smile vanished at once.
A hush fell over the room. Eventually, Denny looked Wyatt in the eye and said, “Thank you for what you did today p>
“No need for that; we’re even now p>
Others might not have understood Wyatt’s words, but Denny grasped immediately that Wyatt meant the favor of saving Amelia had been repaid.
With the room falling silent, Denny turned to Amelia and asked, “Could we talk for a moment in private p>
Upon hearing Denny’s request, Amelia instinctively glanced at Wyatt.
Standing at the door, Jasiah held his breath.
Wyatt’s expression was icy, but when Amelia looked toward him, he replied, “I’ll wait for you at the door p>
Taking the hint, Jasiah made his way out after Wyatt left the room. He reached for the door, intending to close it, but a sudden chill made him pause. Wyatt’s cold stare convinced Jasiah to leave the door open.
