Denny, hearing the commotion, came over.
Knowing Kelsey had dashed away due to his earlier remarks stinging her pride, Denny extended a hand to steady her, only to have it swatted aside in irritation. “Quit throwing a tantrum. Remember, you’re here as the face of the Finch Group,” Denny cautioned Kelsey.
Kelsey shot Denny a fierce scowl and said indignantly, “I’m cutting ties with you for good p>
Yet, she held his arm nonetheless.
When she took a step, a piercing twinge lanced through her ankle, compelling her to halt abruptly.
Noticing her distress, Denny inquired with concern, “Have you sprained your ankle p>
At that, Shepard, standing nearby, swiftly said, “Shall I summon the hotel’s doctor p>
“No thanks p>
Kelsey rejected Shepard’s offer, then hissed under her breath to Denny, “What are you doing, just standing there? Lend me a hand to reach that spot over there, and let me sit down. You p>
Before Kelsey could complete her words, Denny withdrew his support and strode toward the hotel entrance.
Gazing after Denny’s departing path, Kelsey’s eyes instantly landed on Amelia and Wyatt. Fury bubbled up within Kelsey, erupting in a bitter chuckle as she muttered toward Denny’s vanishing silhouette, “What a fool you are p>
“Ms. Finch, allow me to escort you to the resting area,” Shepard suggested, offering his arm.
Kelsey was on the verge of declining when she spotted curious onlookers turning their heads toward her, and she quickly accepted Shepard’s arm.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to Hans, Amelia?” Denny asked after walking over to her.
“It was a spur-of-the-moment choice,” Amelia answered with a gentle smile.
Observing Denny’s gaze fixed on Amelia, Wyatt stepped in to block his view, his displeasure plain as day.
