Chapter 242:
“That’s right. I’m talking about Dr. Marc Chapman p>
“If you can actually make it possible for him to treat my mother, not only will I back you for a place in the Flynn Group, but I’ll also help you whenever you need anything in the future p>
The promise was no small matter. Everyone has someone closest to their heart, and for him, nobody mattered more than his eighty-year-old mother.
Before Amelia could reply, Bryce continued, “Mrs. Stewart, will you be able to arrange for him to meet my mother soon? Is today all right?” Bryce had exhausted his connections trying to get Marc to treat her, but he had always run into a brick wall.
Watching Bryce’s anxiety, Amelia decided not to leave him hanging. She told him she would call Marc right away to ask.
Meanwhile, Marc was at Hillside Villa tending to Wyatt’s wound. He glanced at Wyatt, who was glued to the laptop, and couldn’t help saying, “So you’ve hired a whole army, and yet here you are, working with an injury. Why don’t you let your employees handle things for you p>
Marc never hesitated to lecture patients who ignored his advice, and under normal circumstances he would have unleashed a full tirade by now. Wyatt, however, was an exception. With the project Wyatt had invested in already underway, Marc kept his complaints mild. Research needed a constant stream of cash, and he had his eyes on Wyatt’s funding.
Wyatt didn’t bother to acknowledge him, keeping his eyes on the screen, fingers dancing over the keyboard.
Just then, Marc’s phone rang. The moment he saw the caller’s name, he couldn’t hide his delight. He made a show of waving his phone in front of Wyatt. That got Wyatt’s attention, and his expression soured.

Right in front of Wyatt, Marc answered Amelia’s call and turned on the speaker. Amelia’s voice filtered through the line, explaining Bryce’s mother’s situation and asking if Marc had a window to consult today.
“I’m free right now. Have him bring his mother to my place,” Marc responded without hesitation.
After the call ended, he caught Wyatt looking at him. Marc hesitated for a split second, then said, “My project has hit a crucial point. Development is on track, but we’re coming up short on funds. I figured, since I’m helping your wife, maybe you’d consider helping me out as well p>
Amelia’s request had given Marc the perfect chance to bring up a topic he’d been pondering for a while.
“If you need more money, just ask Davin for it,” Wyatt replied.
That was all Marc needed to hear. His face lit up. “You’re too generous. On behalf of everyone who’ll benefit from my research, thank you. I swear I p>
Wyatt’s patience snapped. “Say one more word, and you’ll get nothing more from me p>
That warning was enough. Marc clamped his mouth shut instantly.
