Chapter 335:
“Are you telling me, Mr. Mills, that Colton carried out all those actions with your full awareness?” Wyatt asked, his voice carrying a sharp edge. Though his words were phrased as an inquiry, he already knew the answer.
Initially, he had assumed Colton was operating without Marcelo’s knowledge, keeping everything from Marcelo.
But as Colton’s bold interventions persisted, it dawned on Wyatt that Marcelo was fully aware of Colton’s every move. Given Marcelo’s influence and insight, nothing in the Mills family could escape his notice.
Perhaps Colton’s audacity stemmed from Marcelo’s unspoken consent.
The realization sparked a glint of irony in Wyatt’s gaze.
Marcelo didn’t respond right away. Instead, he stood and retrieved a pot of a small, unpruned plant from a nearby shelf.

“Wyatt, you do know that a tree spreads its branches as it grows, right?” he said. “It’s natural for a large tree to extend outward, but to thrive, it requires trimming the excess. Just as a garden demands care, so does a family p>
As he spoke, he picked up a pair of shears from the table and began carefully clipping the plant’s overgrown branches.
With each precise cut, the once-disheveled plant took on a renewed, lively appearance.
Setting the shears aside, Wyatt placed a document on the table.
“In respect for the long friendship between you and my grandmother, I’m offering the Mills family, and you, a chance to make things right,” he said.
Bruno, who had been waiting near the pavilion’s entrance, hurried inside as Wyatt departed, his eyes filled with concern for Marcelo.
Having served Marcelo since his early days, Bruno knew the current state of the Mills family all too well.
Wyatt believed Marcelo had quietly endorsed Colton’s actions, but in truth, Marcelo had been powerless to stop Colton.
Age had sapped his ability to manage the whole family.
Marcelo stared at the cold coffee in front of him and let out a heavy sigh. “Get me the document,” he instructed.
Bruno promptly moved the document on the table toward him.
As Marcelo scanned its contents, fury surged within him. Unable to contain it, he hurled the coffee cup to the ground, shattering it. “That bastard!” he roared.
Seeing Marcelo’s face flush with anger, Bruno rushed to calm him, saying, “The doctor said you shouldn’t get angry too often. It will affect your health p>
Marcelo took a deep breath, then said slowly, “Go get Colton here p>
“But, sir, if you confront him, he might be upset with you and even resent you,” Bruno cautioned.
“Doesn’t he already resent me?” Marcelo retorted, tossing the document toward Bruno.
As Bruno read it, his face paled.
The document outlined Colton’s recent actions in meticulous detail, complete with witnesses and evidence.
In the Davis Group conference room.
“Mrs. Stewart, the recent controversy has finally died down. Why push for new product launches now? I heard from Rocco that you’re planning a month-long free trial for customers. That’s absurd!” one executive said.
“Most companies offer a week at most. A month? Good luck getting anyone to pay after that p>
“Mrs. Stewart, we get it — you’re eager to prove yourself as the new CEO. But success takes time. Young leaders shouldn’t overreach p>
Dalia, seated beside Amelia, bristled at the barrage of criticism, her eyes flashing with fury. She wanted to leap to Amelia’s defense, but Amelia gently squeezed her hand.
Dalia bit her tongue, trusting Amelia’s judgment.
As a leader, Amelia knew she had to handle her team on her own; she couldn’t always rely on Dalia to fight her battles.
“Are you done?” Amelia asked coolly once the room fell silent.
Her steady gaze met theirs, catching the executives off guard.
The senior executives had anticipated that their harsh critiques would provoke Amelia into a heated reaction, enabling them to band together and push her to relinquish control of the company.
To their surprise, Amelia, despite being young, displayed extraordinary composure.
She remained calm and even offered a subtle smile in response to their demeaning remarks.
“Now that you’ve all had your chance to speak, it’s time for me to respond,” Amelia said evenly.
